    Do you remember in the first movie there was a manned mission to Mars that was shown in a shot of the news paper at the breakfast table. Well this leaves the story open for their return to earth after the apes have established civilization back on earth. That scene was deliberately done to pave the grounds for a possible sequel.

  • @Davemented

    @Davemented

    2 жыл бұрын

    I think they added that scene as the lead-in to the original Planet of the Apes film, which started as a space journey and ended with them returning to earth two thousand years later when apes had evolved to the near-human state they were. Basically these three films were a prequel to the original.

  • @americasteam2112

And we get more backstory to Maurice, Winter, Red & Spear. I too cried reading it. Again highly recommend it. Yes. But still not a trilogy, it is directly related to "the planet of the apes" 1968 movie (a masterpiece) (and "Beneath TPOTA" 1970, "Escape from TPOTA" 1971, and "Conquest of TPOTA" 1973 even not as good as the first one). Don't forget about that. There is 7 movies. Even if you ignore the lesser good 3 last ones, you would still need the 1968 (masterpiece), coz without it, there is no meaning for all these movies. So it would be a quadrilogy. (You gotta start watching the saga with the 1968 one, otherwise there is no sense. Seems many people missed it.)

    Hi Mary, glad u got to watch this trilogy, one of my favorite trilogies ever made, have this cool graphic art piece from the movie on my wall..wish more people had seen these movies, always overlooked when people discuss greatest trilogies! Caesar is such an incredible character, film was a hard watch but brilliant..have always thought Andy Serkis should of won the Oscar or at least nominated for this film....i agree Dawn is the best! Glad u didn't use those wipes as tissues, that would of been a tragic sight .take it easy Mary..💚

    4:55 A nice possibly unintentional reference, since Andy Serkis did the mocap for King Kong in the 2005 movie. Also there's an actual King Kong/Planet of the Apes crossover comic, that's really awesome (though sadly ends on a cliffhanger and seemingly isn't getting a sequel).

    As the second son of Caesar, Cornelius is also Prince of the Ape Colony and as the only living member of the Royal Ape Family, he is the sole Hire to the the throne. With that said, Cornelius will learn to be diplomatic, firm, etc under the guidance of Maurice, Rocket and Lake then ascend the throne, becoming the new King of the Ape Colony when he's old enough.

    I think many of the apes as mentioned feared KOBA, and likely felt they could not face Ceasar or those they betrayed. For them the only existence they felt they had was to live, and that required submission at the hands of the Humans. Don't forget that even if Humans were as diminished as they were by this time, all the apes had been living in seclusion up until Dawn. Stands to reason after the RISE movie they had spread stories of human firepower, not to mention humans were thought to be everywhere except that forest.
