I am sure they are absolutely right. Waqar was the fiercest they had ever faced . However, had they faced Shoaib , they would have said that Shoaib is way quicker than Waqar

​@@shujahmohammed9173Don't think Shoaib was way quicker. Waqar was consistently bowling early to mid 150s in 1993 Total series and 94 Mandela cup in SAF. So I presume he must be quicker before 92 back surgery. Hence Haynes did played against a very quick Waqar on the 1990 tour.

@@talhanaeem4364I absolutely agree with you to a certain extent. I am a huge fan of Waqar . Waqar was very quick from 89 to 92 . Waqar would be approximately between 155 to 157 kmph. Maybe max 158 kmph . However Shoaib could bowl faster as we have seen him bowl 158, 159, 160 and 161.3. If Shoaib would have tried harder, you never know he could have even reached 163. As a kid I would always think that no one can bowl faster than Waqar. However Shoaib broke that myth and it was obvious that Shoaib was quicker when he started out. Bowlers never feared Waqar , in the manner that they feared Shoaib. Remember that bowl to Stephen Fleming in 1999 World cup, it just showed what Shoaib could do. Shoaib was way quicker and always a fast bowler. Waqar after 1998 couldn’t cross 142 kmph. Shoaib even at the age of 36 could bowl at 156kmph . Shoaib was stronger than Waqar .

First of all , great commentary from Tony Greig And Bill Lawry . Cricket was pure gold in the 90s . Magnificent bowling action ( Waqar Younis ). And pitches were more conducive to fast bowlers and batsmen had to show true skills . Cricket now is just showy business thanks to BCCI manipulation and weak cricket administration from ICC .I still watch some games now and then but Cricket even during the T20 World Cup was extremely dull . Players seemed like going through the motions . There have been way too much commercialised cricket that it is losing its lustre.

Dragging in BCCI in these comments appears to be driven by Anti India sentiments and pure jealousy! Since 80% of the revenue gets generated by Indian Sponsorship and through Indian audience, it is quite natural that BCCI and Indian Cricket will have a lot of say in the world Cricket administration. Most sports are commercialized nowadays and Cricket cannot be an exception.

Dont know what Haynes was complaining about?! A clear edge off the bat. Superb over by Waqar. Deserved wicket. Bowler won this contest, hands down.

Both Wasim and Waqar had great competition against Haynes in early 90s While Greenidge seriously struggled against Waqar on the 1990 tour.

Waqar was lightning fast and accurate back then.

In the early histroy, Haynes was a top 3 ODI player. Stats second to none. Viv was an anomaly. Zaheer played a very short time. Miandad and Dean Jones were the other greats.

Are you mad? Haynes was retired in 94, five years after Waqar began his career. And he was still good enough to score couple of 💯s against Pakistani in 93 test series, & a 💯 in his last ODI against Australia in 94. And Greenidge who was retired in 91 was also good enough to score a 200 in his 2nd last test series against Australia. So, don't talk rubbish only bcoz you are envious of Pakistani bowlers, you can't belittle them by this nonsense!

@@mateen1979 Ball hit him above elbow of right hand. Umpire could not see that from his position, just saw ball deviate plus sound, so gave him out. Notice Haynes puts his right hand out and looks at it.

Yes u r right i saw in slow motion. But umpire had to judge with a speed of 150kph with no replay. Current law of referral has changed cricket
