    I actually got two lucid dreams last night, which brings me to a total of four. One of them I was even able to make dream portals. I concidentally went to bed an hour early, drank mugwort tea before bed for the first time, ate some high coline foods earlier in the day, did a wbtb, and its now been about 6 months since i found this channel. I've said it before but I'll say it again, tysm Daniel for doing your job well and posting regularly. I plan to buy your book soon :)

    My cats during the last week have not been a lucid dreamer's best friend - waking me up at 4 in the morning, running to my face and bashing me as soon as they see me moving a little, knocking things over. Granted, its because one of them gets particularly hungry early (and will lie to try and get extra feedings!) but they haven't been quite friendly to me and my dreams. So imagine my reaction when the video stated that I could learn a thing or two from them! One of my cats switches sleeping spots every week, rotating between some new spots and old spots. I, however, sleep in the same position, tossing and turning. I've never tried out the trick of sleeping the other way around on my bed because I've always been one of those people who need a ton of sleep, but it's something that I would like to try! Hopefully when I get my sleep schedule back to normal (my brain has been on a midnight to 2 am writing frenzy as of light) I remember to try it out! Purrfect video today! Leaving a shorter comment as I am a bit busy currently, but will absolutely return to give it another watch later!

    There are no hard rules that apply to everyone. LaBerge's research showed waking an hour earlier (as explained in the video). Some people, myself included, don't need that step. Basically, as long as you're getting that final period of REM with a clear mind, you're all good.

    Thanks for another great video! We should remember that dreaming is a fascinating and mysterious part of human biology, and that the ability to LUCID dream is a valuable gift from nature and our unique form of biology. So why should we pull off all-nighters just to hopelessly doomscroll or look through a bunch of random silly memes, when we can use that time to act like a 😺, get the sleep that we biologically and psychologically need, and if you're up to it, use your sleep to consciously explore the uncharted universe in your mind.

I've been going back through, “Are you dreaming?” There are lots of small details in practice through reality testing and dream journaling that I've honestly forgotten. Upping my practices with these details has resulted in significantly better dream recall and a few spontaneous Dilds. Small things in the toolbox, when sharpened, really can help Great video as always : )

    Had a lucid dream because of my cat earlier this week.. She usually sleeps on my bed at the same time as me, and that night I tried doing a WBTB (I practically always get false awakenings because of these..) And as I did it, and cause a false awakening.. I noticed my cat was not on my bed anymore. Did a reality check and boom.. Here I was, in my dream. When I saw this video I found it funny, it's a pretty silly coincidence. I immediately looked at my cat and she may be sleeping lucidly. Okay then I am a strange sleeper. I always have lucid dreams at the beginning of the night and when I have a morning lucid dream they are always very bizarre. I'm going to do reality scripting tonight. I bought a notebook and still have 15 pens. would this technique also improve my dream quality? and could I do this technique together with MILD? that I'm going to do reality scripting and then go back to sleep? For better change thanks for the video🎉

  • @LucidDreamPortal

    @LucidDreamPortal

    5 ай бұрын

    That's definitely on the more unusual side Jim, it does seem to hint that you have a good prospective memory. Dream scripting is a pretty ancient approach, it has mixed results and seems very dependent on the individual, for some it's incredibly potent, for others not at all. It's worth trying. You could mix techniques, but I'd recommend just the one initially so you can assess results. Thank you and stay lucid!

    Do you think things are frequently broken in dreams for the same reason that reality tests like the digital watch test work? I had a really stressful dream the other day where I couldn't turn off a faucet and the sink flooded, I've been wondering if it was broken because my brain was awful at mimicking it. By the way I had a very brief maintained awareness dream and experienced hypnagogia for the first time and saw a swirling tunnel of colors. It was incredible! Way cooler than the lucid dream I had lol. I just "woke up" in my bed, two monitors were sitting in the bed next to me with Skyrim running. I got up and it was still dark so I asked aloud for light and think I felt a flash of light but with no actual illumination, then I woke up. Think I was probably at the end of the REM cycle or maybe I rushed too much? Any thoughts on that? Thanks as always!

  • @LucidDreamPortal

    @LucidDreamPortal

    5 ай бұрын

    Hi Shedox, firstly, thank you for your kind support! It's hard to say for certain why these kinds of things occur, but the prevailing theory is that it's related to the areas of the brain that are offline or not functioning fully during a dream - mainly those regarding logic. But, it may simply be that the lack of a stable input source, combined with this leads to an inevtiable inability to maintain the illusion. I've experimented extensively with this, and find that it fluctuates greatly. One of the fun mysteries of the dreaming mind! The swirling portal sounds fantastic, I am very fond of these sorts of things (as you can guess by the channel name!). Light is a tricky one in dreams, Dr Hearne discovered "the light switch effect" which appears to suggest that the mind struggles with changing lighting levels in the dream. It's hard to know if this is a default or expectation. However, many non lucid dreamers report this as part of standard dreaming, without knowing it's a thing at all. It's hard to say why you woke up, but both are good guesses. Still, it sounds like you're really starting to crack lucidity, so keep up the brilliant work!

  • @sheodox

    @sheodox

    5 ай бұрын

    Thanks! Oh I have heard of that light switch effect now that you mention it, probably from another video or an old stream of yours. Makes sense! Next time I may try teleporting elsewhere instead. I definitely have no right to complain with my progress so far, I've been a little obsessive and extremely lucky and apparently I wake up a lot in the mornings (never noticed before starting to dream journal). In the like 5 weeks or so in my dream journal I have recorded 27 lucid dreams, though 21 of them were the "oh I'm dreaming" *wakes up* kind, and only 6 of them have lasted long enough for me to just briefly explore for a minute or two or so. I think I probably need to calm down in general, when I find myself in a lucid dream I seem to immediately rush to touch everything to stabilize but maybe my rushing is part of the problem. Still, the dreams that end in seconds have been a ton of fun, and it's wild to see all the ways dreams don't work like reality. Like one dream where I floated through a wall and instead of coming out into the next room my vision just looked like I was viewing a messy pile of metal pipes through a kaleidoscope. Again, I appreciate all the knowledge you've shared on this channel! I got into lucid dreaming a bit over a decade ago when I was finishing university, only stuck with it for a few months and since getting back into it this time I'm having much more success! Bit of a ramble, but hey more comments for the algorithm at least lol.

    i had a rough night last night so did'nt get any REM but i was somewere else, wich was the reason i slept pretty badly. was in a hospital bed for one night, to get my mental state a little bit of a rest but the ironic part is that i did'nt had any rest even though that was possibly the reason why i needed to go there. but anyway, had No dreams recollected. maybe i had REM but my memory was out of whack because of tiredness or of stress but i hope that will make up for this night or two or three nights later with massive REM Rebound. with lack of sleep and also having a nice little beer to drink i think i might have an extreme REM Rebound, or not, depends, but if i will have that rebound i hope i will get Lucid again because i've been Dryspelling since Januari so this year i have zero Lucid dreams (unless i forgot already one in Januari but i dont know). but at least i know my reason behind the Dry Spell. my Dreamjournal is wonky bonky! its either three days of vivid dreams or three or four days no dreams or pretty vague like one scene or something. sometimes i feel they are too short or they are so confusing that i have no idea how to write it in my journal. can it be that my sleepschedule need to be strict in order to have more vivid dreams or should i try more nights like the one before (i had bad sleep, very little) and drink beer afterwards and hoping for a huge REM Rebound. yeah, i know, that's probably asking for nightmare fuel wich in my case is mostly demonic, satanic or gory dreams. i hope at least i'm not getting Triple False Awakenings with endless nightmares. so what i now wonder, is Rem Rebound a bad thing to do on a regular basis? and if so, then , how can i get enough sleep everynight and stay consistent with normal dreams? the reason i dont get lucid is because the very deep intense dreams are few and far between and comes out of nowhere and i have no time to react. i still do my daily N.O.W.'s and Microtests so thats probably not the real problem. real problem is probably Insomnia or irregular sleeping pattern. any tips to stay consistent with sleeping at the same time and how to stick to it? i feel like 22:30 is too early but 23:30 is probably too late. i think 23:00 is the safe spot. but i'm addicted to youtube videos, maybe that is the biggest reason for lack of consistent sleep. by the way i realy love cats but i'm more a dogs person but the cat tips are realy helpfull and funny. cats are very cute sometimes. love them.

  • @LucidDreamPortal

    @LucidDreamPortal

    5 ай бұрын

    Using alarms during sleep for lucidity isn't something I'd recommend. It might seem like a quick solution, but it's not as effective or sustainable as you might hope. Developing mental skills for inducing lucidity is a more reliable path. Shortcuts like alarms almost always end up being distractions and time wasting, and you'll find yourself needing to develop these mental skills anyway. Starting with skill development from the beginning can actually save you time and lead to more consistent lucid dreaming experiences.

    Daniel, what do you make of companies like PropheticAI and their new Morpheus-1 model meant to induce lucid dreaming via ultrasound? Credible promise or just misleading marketing?

  • @LucidDreamPortal

    @LucidDreamPortal

    5 ай бұрын

    From what I've seen, there's not much in the way of solid evidence backing PropheticAI's claims about inducing lucid dreams through ultrasound. It seems like there's a lot of hope driving their project, but not much in the way of hard science just yet. The marketing seems considerably ahead of the actual science. Always good to keep an open mind, but also, eyes wide open for the real proof. Here's another way to think about the concept: what would you think of a company claiming to create a device that uses ultrasound to immediately sober up drunk people? The principle is very similar. As it currently stands, I'd personally not invest. But, of course I'd be happy to be convinced otherwise, if Prophetic have more data that I've yet to see.

    My pleasure! I'd always recommend waiting at least a year after any lucid dream hardware's official release before considering a purchase. This wait-and-see approach allows you to confirm the product actually makes it to market, as many unfortunately do not, and also lets you gather invaluable real-world feedback from early users. I've seen far too many people lose their money and trust in the past. The track record for previous companies in this space has been less than stellar, to put it mildly. I'm not saying that's the case here, but it's better to regret not buying something earlier - a problem that can be fixed, than to regret losing money to something that doesn't live up to the promises - a problem that can't.
