    Beautiful works of art, I'll never be able to afford one but it's great to see them being made non-the-less. BTW, the center plate of the dead beat seconds (10:07) reminds me of Star Trek's logo... as a Trek fan myself, it would be awesome to own a De Bethune just for that alone.

    There is no secret for polishing components and watch cases absolutely flat with no rounded edges. This can be done by a Lapping process much like the watches made 250 years ago. But maybe this is too expensive and time consuming these days.

    Halo dear friend. Could you suggests a good watch with the following specifications: sapphire cristal, 200m water resistance, perpetual calendar with date, day and month, if posible yeat too. Quarts or mechanical no mater. Preferably not thicker than 11mm. Surely luminous. And of course not expensive, at least not more than 500$ if possible. For us folks who are on a budget. In the end a review of such a watch would be awesome. Thank you and take care.

    How can he claim de bethune watches are not toys for guys? That is all watches are these days. Just because you are a serious brand and that it is a piece of art does not mean it can't be a toy.

  • @florishaze2623

    @florishaze2623

    @Sudhir Raghu I do think almost anything which has no use but to entertain us could be considered a toy. And for me watches are not needed to tell the time, so I see them purely as entertainment and hobby.

  • @florishaze2623

    @florishaze2623

    4 жыл бұрын

    @Sudhir Raghu hmm, I like that way of looking at them. I do agree on it, but I think a toy can be all of these things. I think watches bring up the same feelings as a lot of other things that could be considered toys. Some consider supercars toys, because I think when you compare them to "actual toys" they have a lot of similarities.

  • @WATCHESTVcom

    @WATCHESTVcom

    Nice discussion and it’s true that most of these brands don’t like to be treated as « toys », but the analogy to works of art is indeed something they prefer to be referred to. All the very best
