Walking Will Help You CRUSH Your Reading Goals
Our physical health goes hand in hand with our intellectual life. If we neglect one, the other will suffer with it. That means as a reader, prioritising health is one of the best habits you can adopt.
Walking every day is an easy solution to reach that goal. Aside from WHY it is so important to walk every day, I explore HOW you can get the most value from your walks. It sounds simple, but getting the full potential for our discovery, reflection and imagination can change how you navigate the world forever.

Great video as always! I always like to go on a walk with someone if there are hard conversations to be had. Talking together is easier when you're walking together.

Have you also noticed that talking on the phone is better when pacing around? Many people instinctively do it.
Really valuable video, bro. 👊🏻 Thanks for the shout out.

My thesis writing routine includes walking to a library (I am lucky to have several on campus nearby). Not only my brain associates the library with writing, but I guess walking also preps it for cognitive work

Yep, environment is strong when it comes to focus
Superb video, I can theoretically and practically vouch for all the tips you've mentioned. In his book "Peak Performance", Brad Stulberg throws light on why eureka moments strike so frequently when we are doing what seem to be menial/mundane tasks, just like taking a shower or going for a walk as you've said. And the author also backs up your last point about connecting with nature. Your tips are not only based in science but also actionable, since I have myself benefitted from them, unknowingly for years before reading this book. P.S. - The image of Leonardo Da Vinci at the start of the video is from Assassin's Creed, brownie points for that from me, it is one of my absolute favourite games 😅

Thanks so much and I'm glad to know they've served you well. Also I think more people recognize ACII Da Vinci over the actual one, so I figured to use him instead haha

i’m 20 year old 2nd year uni student and i’ve only just began to discover the power of walks, and hiking on the days i’ve got time. I recall Nietzsche stating the only ideas worthwhile come to him during his walks (something along those lines). I think this message needs to be spread more widely. I look forward to your content & ideas! Cheers!

Thank you. The only ones I can suggest are books written by the famous stoics, but specifically for careers, I'm not sure.

This is really fascinating. Even though I live in a fairly densely populated area I have about a mile and a half of forest and stream directly behind my house and walking is definitely an important part of my routine. Great content.

@@BlueWingedRino That's real lifesaver, and thanks!
Depends on the neighborhood where you're doing the walking I suppose. Ugly environment would just distract you even worse! Not everyone has the privilege of walkable neighborhood or access to it.

That's true, and I hope even an ugly walk is better than no walk at all. Who knows

@@odysseas__ Like, if you're risking getting mugged, you'd need to stay on guard at all times, that's no chill "walk". 😂
