I walked into a Grocery Store with my Mom, and every magazine had this guy on the Cover, with his "Died, Sept 25th." I remember thinking, "damn, this guy must be really famous to be on every magazine in the store." Little did I know he was the greatest rock drummer of the greatest group of all time.

I remember hearing the news as a HS senior. We were so blasé about rock stars dying. We were upset that the tour was postponed. The next day we were already discussing rock drummers as potential replacements. Horrible. Personally, I don't think Robert Plant ever got over it. Combine that with the death of his son while he was thousands of miles away on a tour and a jeep accident that nearly killed his wife, and a Zeppelin reunion was unthinkable to him. Would have loved to have seen them, but you've got to respect that.
