    I remember hearing a quote when I was a kid and it stuck with me. "The Devil doesn't have to put bad things into your head to make you a bad person..he only has to keep out the good things." Too many of these young people have never experienced what it's like to experience the joy of life outside their neighborhoods.

    Proverbs 4:14-22 Do not enter the path of the wicked, And do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, do not travel on it; Turn away from it and pass on. For they do not sleep unless they have done evil; And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, And drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble. My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.

    I lived in a hood like this in LA not far from from there. I got lucky and was able to travel. That opened my eyes so much. You really don’t realize there’s anything else until you leave. Not everyone can do that though. But if you from a hood and you made it out and know someone that’s as smart as you and can be a good person even though he hood if you can take him out the hood. That’s the best way to save someone from there. Once they have their eyes open to the world and see that there’s more than just the hood that’s when the world opens up for them. The hood is a trap and it’s meant to be that way. We don’t know that all we have to do is see other things and it starts to change you. Good luck to these homies. I love them. All the homies that are in the struggle.

  • @gimmeehands1

    @gimmeehands1

    @@jackl135 it’s comes from not being safe. There are so many different gangs and hoods in LA it’s just insane. If you’re I’d guess in between the ages of 9 to 30yrs old you’re prime age to be a target for gang members. Social media has only made all the ugliness visible for everyone to see now. It’s also intensified the violence. So when a young man has lived in LA his whole life and never seen the beach it’s safety. You tend to stay where you feel safe. Your home. Your home is in your hood. So you stay put. I got lucky enough to travel and have my eyes opened. I really believe if people could travel and meet people from other places and see the world there would be more understanding and less violence. Instead when you’re stuck in the same place all you can do is fight for your life and to keep what’s yours. It never ends until you get out. When you sit and really think about it it makes so much sense.

  • @gimmeehands1

    @@athon317 these are still kids. Even if they are adults they are severely stunted emotionally and mentally from the things we experience in “the hood”. If you are worried about losing your life since you were able to leave your house and death for the young is a reality, a trip to the woods or anywhere else is just a fantasy. As real as movies about the hood are to you is as real as the woods are to us. We have to experience things to grow. Being in these neighborhoods is a kind of deprivation. It’s way too deep.

    My half white half Latino cousin grew up poor with drug addicted, alcoholic, and abusive parents in north Denver and rode with a sureno crew in the late 90s early 2000s and grew up in a very similar environment.. strapped up, selling drugs, stealing cars, breaking into houses, shooting at 🥷’s, and robbing people.. eventually he got caught up in an armed robbery/car theft where he pulled a dude out of his Toyota Corolla, pistol whipped him and then drove off after he forcibly removed the guy from the car.. a police officer happened to be driving by right after it happened and got the description of my cousin and the stolen car and took off after my cousin… not even but 20 minutes later another cop found my cousin about 10 miles away in another part of Denver entirely and lit him up but my cousin sped off and led Denver PD and Colorado state patrol on a 27 mile long chase that ended up with my cousin crashing the car into a ditch.. he had a stolen pistol as well as crack cocaine and heroin on him as well as open alcohol in the car(a 40oz steel reserve.. guess it was popular with his group at the time).. after all was said and done he got sentenced to 10 years lockup and got out in 2015 this incident happened in 2005.. didn’t get to see my cousin for all that time and it hurt bruh.. I love that dude like a second brother.. he’s doing good now after he gave up the thug lifestyle and has a family and a whole life down in Az.. it’s just proof that if you have the will power and determination to turn your life around and be better the sky’s the limit.. and nobody can tell you different.. dont get trapped up in the streets kids.. there’s only 3 endings: jail, a hospital bed, or the morgue.. you choose

    As a native new yorker I have bumped into some people from the west side who brought their west side culture to our hoods. It is all love though and some of the best peaple I have met came from those cultures. People look seek place of belonging and gangs provide that for many. I know the stigma behind allot of this but its not all true. Blessings to all in this video, life is short and fragile.
