Walking on Water - Official U.S. Trailer

Фильм және анимация

In theaters starting May 17: bit.ly/christodoc
Ten years after the passing of his wife and creative partner, Jeanne-Claude, Christo sets out to realize The Floating Piers, a project they conceived together many years before. Boasting uncensored access to the artist and his team, Walking on Water is an unprecedented look at Christo’s process, from the inception through to the completion of his latest large-scale art installation, a dahlia-yellow walkway atop Italy’s Lake Iseo that was eventually experienced by over 1.2 million people. The film takes the viewer on an intimate journey into Christo’s world amid mounting madness - from complex dealings between art and state politics to engineering challenges, logistical nightmares, and the sheer force of mother nature. Captured through breathtaking aerial views and fly on the wall camerawork, we watch the artist’s vision unfold, and get to know the man chasing it.

This reminds me - guy renounced his Bulgarian roots, but still had such a thick Bulgarian accent after so many decades (he left in his 20s). It's fun to have guys like this, creating massive art projects for the sake of it. It's both wonderful and decadent, and him not being smug is a great part of his art.

Never forget Jeanne-Claude. She had a BIG PART in Christo's works of art too!

Christo reminds me of my first grade teacher, a 60-year-old nun. She could be the sweetest person you ever met. But if anyone got the idea to misbehave... LOOK OUT! I have to give him enormous credit for his stamina and focus. At the time of this project's completion he had just turned 81. I hope I have at least half that much energy at that age.

Stupid people think this is art. Origami is more art. This is the expression of a bored society.

@@stars19735 no art is something expressing. What does it express? I become rich and famous by bullshitting you. In formers times art was connected to beauty. Emotion. The artist could perform something showing his talent. This is postmodern stupidity. And proves you think you are deeply reflected or even an intellectual. The emperor is naked. In 100 years the people will have forgotten this. Maybe it will be used as an example for this wide spread boring mediocracy pretending to be more.

SW's POV is not a Boomer opinion, it's a right-wing conservative opinion. I'm 67 and love Christo. Conceptual and abstract art have been pioneered by artists on the highest levels, internationally. The idea that art is always and only connected to "beauty" and "emotion" is representative and manipulative. This was Hitlers POV, hence his preference for Wagner and literal art.

@@susankennedy5739 Susan, we have the name in common. But you have no idea on real beauty. I spent my whole life on the search of beauty. I see beauty in the tiniest things. Even if I look down the street. I am a sales professional I know all the tricks. The ugliness of TODAY is terrible. I am a mother of teenagers and I see how postmodernism is eating and sucking the real of everything. Take the time to watch some thoughts. Of Roger Scruton. Try to avoid stereotypes.
