rrahulvverma@gmail.com | Delhi, March, 2024: This video starts somewhere around Barakhamba Road where we see people starting off their weekend morning on this calm, quiet peaceful day. We are very close to Connaught Place in Central Delhi and so the road are very wide and green and clean.
We start walking around aimlessly in this area, hoping for chance discoveries and new spots in this otherwise familiar area. We go past The Lalit Hotel and walk along a beautiful, green, sun-lit road that we had never seen before. While walking along this beautiful road we reach a flyover and go right under it. The flyover has a very intriguing walkway right under it that goes under and then to the side of the flyover to finally get on top of the flyover. This gives us a unique perspective of a flyover, one that we have never experienced before.
We pounce on this opportunity and start to slowly walk up this flyover from right under it. We hear the sounds and take in the views on all sides, covered by the ceiling of this flyover right above us. To our absolute surprise and delight we soon see a train passing by, right on the other side just tens of meters away. Looks like that right under this flyover is a old line of the Indian Railways. We spend quite a few minutes observing this train passing by and then also seeing many other trains passing right under this flyover. It is quite the view. We next walk further up and get on top of the flyover to now see trains and train lines right under us.
From here on our goal for the morning and clear yet a bit challenging. We try to go all around those train lines and try to find a way to get as close to the trains as possible. Our efforts give way to success finally and we are able to get right next to the train lines - actually not just right next to them but also right onto the train lines. Experiencing long distance trains from up close is quite an overwhelming and wonderful experience. The video ends here and just shows a few sweet shots from earlier in the morning when we saw multiple workers cleaning and sweeping the streets of Central Delhi.
