Amidst the chirping of birds blue skies and bright Delhi sun this tomb looks majestic. It is difficult to believe that this beautiful structure was built around 500 years ago. But then if one thinks about Delhi and its rich history a 500 year old tomb is mostly commonplace.
Isa Khan's Tomb was built around mid 1500 before Isa Khan's death because he wanted to be buried within this magnificent tomb in line with the influence and power he wielded in the courts of two rulers of Delhi - Ibrahim Lodi and Sher Shah Suri. Isa Khan Niazi was a noble in the court of both of these rulers.
We spend quite some time circumambulating and experiencing this tomb that shows beautifully in the bright of the early morning sun. The interplay of the sun and shadows makes the visuals all the more appealing. This tomb's architecture is in line with the other structures of that time but it is interesting to note that Isa Khan's tomb was actually built before even Humayun's Tomb was built just nearby.
This video explores various aspects of Isa Khan's Tomb and ends near the six graves at the center of this tomb. The biggest of these six graves is believed to have belonged to Isa Khan Niazi.
