In this virtual tour, we took a walk through the Esquiline district, the most multi-ethnic neighborhood in Rome. This rione is bordered by the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano, the Basilica of Santa Croce in Gerusalemme and Termini Station and has as its center the beautiful and redeveloped Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II.
In some parts the rione shows obvious signs of degradation and there is also no shortage of reports from residents, shopkeepers and hoteliers of crime incidents. But Esquilino is not only this, in addition to the many buildings and historic sites, there are also several great clubs, bars and restaurants that contribute to making this area one of the most interesting in Rome.
