WALK AROUND of my home built flatbed camper on 1st gen Tacoma!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Finally! A walk around and look at the flatbed camper i built for my 2001 Tacoma. I will definitely do a more in depth look and go over built materials, weights and more details soon. Leave me a comment on what details you really want to know!

Totally agree 👍
this is the best overland set up ive watched so far
Love that generation of Tacoma, skinny for the trails and not too much tech. Great build, one of the best DIY builds I’ve ever seen.
What a fantastic job of engineering your camper. So many details with a bit of genius mixed in making it stand out from the crowd. The fact that you did this yourself makes it 10x cooler than anything commercially produced. The well-thought-out storage is next level and the matching pelican cases look awesome! I'm inspired to do my own and sell my rooftop tent. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Simply fantastic. I have been in a quandry for several months about my overland direction. I have a 2002 double cab Tcoma just like yours, but also have a 1993 wrangler. Seeing your video has inspired me to sell the jeep and build a very similar rig on the TComa. So thanks for that. Been following you for a couple of years and love your direction and insight. If you are ever up in the Monterey/Santa Cruz area, drop me a line. Cheers, Chris.
Wow phenomenal work....this is the exact setup that I was planning to make for my 2nd gen. Really helps picturing it now....thanks for sharing.
This is one of the best solutions I have found for tacoma camping. The combination of spaciousness, weight and overall size and form factor is not an easy balance to get right. I think this camper has found a wonderful combination of all three. I currently have a Four Wheel Camper (finch) on my long bed tacoma and it has served me well. But I often wish I had the flatbed openness that allows for entry on the sides as opposed to the back. It changes the space dramatically from feeling like a tunnel to more of an actual room. I may consider looking into the technicalities behind doing something similar to this build in the future. Awesome work and thanks for the inspiration!
Innovative and purposeful build. Can't wait to see the other videos. I'm excited to see your channel do well. you and your skills deserve it👍🏼

Thank you Al i really appreciate it !
That’s fantastic! Great to see a more detailed video, amazing work!
Your channel and builds hit so closely yo home for me and probably for many of us bc I love building things and working on my truck myself. Im also a new welder and in the spring ill purchase your awning template and give that a shot. Thanks for documenting your ideas and builds and helping out the community bc I know I definitely cant walk into these off road shops and afford what I want. So DIY it is to save on cost!
that truck is a beauty
That is absolutely an outstanding build! What a great job. One of the best jobs Ive seen.
love it! i was waiting to see this finished and you knocked it out of the park! videos like this make me wait to post about my own projects
Top notch build. You can tell a lot of thought went into this
Absolutely outstanding concept/design/execution! Subbed, and looking forward to watching more of your work. Thanks for sharing it!
Amazing build brother. One of the best DIY’s I’ve seen. Creative use of space. It’s a tiny house on a taco!
Amazing work. I have been checking KZread every single week just to make sure that i wont miss this tour. Looking forward to see your upcoming one
Glad your back your projects motivate me
Gorgeous job! Glad to hear you are getting some recognition and, more importantly, getting out and enjoying the fruits of your labour!

Thanks Owen! its been pretty wild, and man so fun to use.
That truck camper is awesome. Reminds me of a teardrop trailer except its on the back of your truck and that makes it so much more versatile. Great Build.
Thrilled to see another Overland Under Budget video in my feed! Keep ‘em coming! The fact that this is all built for and by you makes this my favorite camper build. I’d love to see how you connected the shell to the fabric, particularly how you accounted for water intrusion. Also curious about any electrical work you did for interior lighting.

Thanks Daniel! I really appreciate that. So the top of the camper has 2x2 angle aluminum all the way around the lip. So water would have to come in at the lid of the camper and then travel up 2inchs to come in. But the on top of that, the fabric is attached to the outside of the lip so when water is on the fabric it runs down and off the outside of the camper as well. Make sense?

This is so cool. Compact, useful, and fun.
I never subscribe to channels, or even comment, but this is on a whole other level than anything I've seen before!! I really want to see all the gritty details of how this thing was designed and built! Awesome Job! I'm inspired to do something like this with my own Tacoma!
That's a well thought out truck camper. Good job!!!
That’s a really well thought out setup ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Loved this! Great job buddy!
" Simplicity is the highest form of sophistication." This build is proof if that statement
Very impressive! I can see the functionality of your design!
That turned out amazing. Well done.
Amazing! I love your sweet set up!
Well done. Love your approach by keeping it simple practical and under a limited budget. After retirement I swear never to tow anything ever. For me freedom is to experience much with as little as possible. It is surprising how far one can go if we become more in harmony with nature. From Africa.
Dude, what a vibe u have, good shit
Good job mate... I love the idea I love every single things but the color of that camper box

Wow, well done! Awesome design and build….🤙🏾
Love them older small Toyota trucks. Amazing build.
I have a 1986 Jeep Comanche. I’m starting a process similar to this and let me say I couldn’t thank you more. I’m not trying to copy you exactly because I have different needs. But thank you for inspiring me not to settle for something that can be bought but rather something I built for me.
Awesome. I’m stuck with a tent in the bed for now lol. I’m loving it though
Randomly found this video watching a bunch of truck bed camper vids, and I was blown away at the opening shot. I'm 99% sure you filmed this a couple miles from where I live. Great build! 👏
