Overland Under Budget 2024 updated walk around 300,000 miles, supercharged Toyota Tacaoma

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Its finished! or mostly haha time for a 2024 update on the truck after over 50,000 miles of use.
One of the major concerns when i was building the truck was simply weather or not it could handle that much weight and size. Its done super well, with zero failures, bends, axles ect. Amazing little trucks!

THEEE TRUCK.... dang. so good dude. I'd rather see a home built truck over a cookie-cutter product driver rig. Love it.

Ah!.. To be so young and adventurous and see it come to fruition is a blessing. I have the same year and model of toyota and have been following you since you started with the snugtop. I must admit I was dissapointed when I first saw you abandon the original bed and snugtop but you won me over after I saw the versatility of what you had created. Great job neighbor! I see you driving through Morro Bay often. I wish you well on your next build. Too bad it’s a Ford Ranger and not the 1st gen Tundra. Oh well, nobody’s perfect! 😂

I'll be launching a channel in the fall with my own build. I'm doing this to my 02 Tundra AC. I picked it up in L.A. last year for 2k with a bad transmission but only 140k miles. My wife and I rebuilt the transmission in our garage last summer and just completed the first 5000 miles on it having moved from San Diego to Abq NM last September . I had a camp trailer with a similar camper build as Micah's which I had sold so I'm going to be building one similar on my Truck now . I've never been one to KZread much but feel I should document it. I build flight simulators as a work / hobby (Im a pilot as well) so I've had the skills for this sort of stuff for decades. I'll also be incorporating some aviation elements in mine. I just need to decide on a channel name.

@@stevebratten6592True, there aren't many compared to Tacomas. Definitely an underrated truck. They are designed in Australia so seem to be overbuilt with a fully boxed frame , etc.

Sweet (and truly functional) DIY setup; looks like you've thought about everything. Your kids must love going on (short) trips. Thinking about doing something similar (piecemeal). Approximately how much added horsepower and torque did you gain from the supercharger and how much does it impact your average MPG? Stay frosty folks!

I'm curious about your center 2 AC and heat vents being totally blocked by that 10 inch touch screen. Did you find a work around to this or does it just get blasted and you don't have as much airflow?
