This just terrible editing. The card wasn't given for a high tackle, it was ruled there and then that he was going for the ball. The card was for obstruction which happened just after the tackle. Carded because there were too many warnings before the incident. I'm actually amazed at how they have shown it like this and wonder what other nonsense I've been led to believe.

Do you mean the one against Nche? They ruled it was not a high tackle and Nche was actually yellow carded for an obstruction/repeated infringement. Pretty poor job by the editor on that part

His hands was touching the ground whi suggests using hands to support weight .. new unrealistic rules ... new texbook steal is 10:32 by kitshoff but only made possible by marx supporting him up to maintain his weight... again unrealistic rule

These referees are influenced by the IRB trying to keep us on the back foot but as u can see the BOK'S are always on the front foot putting a Steyn on them opponents just too mineral rich for them

Listen to the refs enthusiasm when he says advantage for Wales and lack there of when he says it for South Africa. I think that set the tone for the horrendous disallowed try call.

Come on... We're microanalysing the tone of the referee's tone now? This is ridiculous. We won the damn match. Can we not just let it be? (And incidentally, it was actually a fair call to disallow the try. It was a harsh one no doubt and one that most referees probably wouldn't have spotted, but the call was in keeping with the laws of game.)

@@peterwilliams8524 that is the problem with those calls....the "harsh" ones always seem to go against the boks or other SH teams. I don't mind harsh calls but its doesn't help the ref gets all the harsh calls correct but the main calls he makes bad mistakes on. Pennywise and pound foolish!

According to law 10.4c it was offside and the referee's explanation was correct.

All the huffing and puffing, and there's more score from penalties than tries! Reduce the value of penalties to 1 point, then Teams won't go looking for penalties. Makes the game more fluid and exciting.

What awful refereeing at the breakdowns. Basically spent his entire time looking for reasons to stick his arm out. And now suddenly making contact with a ball being carried by a player, which then hits the player in the head, somehow makes for a yellow card? Every time I watch rugby these days I'm reminded how a great game is ruined by appalling interpretation of rules.

Commented this on a different comment. The player was ruled not to have high tackled but in the same passage of play had actually commited an obstruction while the boks were under warning for too many penalties. Poor editing makes it look like it was called a high tackle.

NZ faced a weaker team in friendlier conditions. It was pouring with rain when SA played. You'd expect a tighter forwards orientated game in those conditions.

Springboks looking good but it'll be tough in next World Cup for 2023 as even if they win their pool, a meeting with the all blacks or hosts France will likely lie in wait in quarter finals.

As a neutral watching the game... What a disgrace for some of the South African public. Showing the finger to the camera and the players, throwing bottles of water to the welsh players... As a rugby supporter and player, this absolutely not things I want to see when watching or playing my sport. Even if Biggar can sometimes be a real douche, always complaining to the refs. The supporters doing that kinda of things in a rugby stadium should go back to football. That said, it was an entertaining game. Well donne Wales for being ahead for most of the game, even when playing with only 12 players. Jantjies and Klerk were disastrous during that game. It can happen, but I hope they'll do better next game

I’m sorry, but I simply cannot see the point of this game, particularly from a spectators perspective. I have played all four codes of football (rugby, rugby league, Australian Rules & soccer) & this form has be totally bewildered. This match is a perfect example: 41 points were scored in total, but only 1 try was scored. ONE! So for 80 minutes the crowd got to witness 29 players standing around with their hands on their hips as 1 player kicked a penalty goal. 11 penalty goals is ridiculous. Aussie Rules spectators pay money to see spectacular marks & goals; soccer spectators pay money to see players score goals; rugby league spectators pay money to see players score tries; but all Rugby can deliver is one player kicking a penalty goal. This game used to be exciting. The 1991 World Cup semi-final between the Wallabies & the All Blacks was ‘on the edge of your seat’ football. Today, unfortunately, Rugby has become a penalty fest & I simply cannot watch it. Even ex-international players who now work as co-commentators, cannot explain the plethora of penalties that are given. Absolute trash!

If you were a true rugby fan then you would have found this game interesting. Since 2015, or maybe even before that, these teams always finish with a tight scoreline...because none of them can find a way that allows them to consistently pierce the other's defensive system. This is just one of those games where the one with more patience and intelligence wins... This is one of those games that don't get you on the edge of your seat, but what it will do is make you use your brain to analyse how they both try to exploit one another's weaknesses.
