This wasn’t the commentary I heard watching on Amazon Prime. 1st Scottish try did have a flat pass, but no more than the boks. Say what u like, great to see Scotland play well against, arguably, the best team in the world. Boks forwards were fantastic, turned over lots of play, scrum master class and line out skills. This could have been a cricket score match for Scotland. GG.

A bit late to the party here, but, I am so uncertain about Scotland. This game, and the most recent game against England, they have been pretty poor. Of couse against England, they squeeked the win, and here, despite how bad the attack was, they were still within scoring range until the last 10 minutes against the best team in the world, despite probably the worst attacking performance in a year or more. You just get this feeling with the Scotland squad that if they can iron out the attacking issues this six nations, they could become the best team in the world, or at least close to it. Like even the tries Scotland scored in this game, were extremely messy and not very clinical or accurate for Scotlands standards. End more recently against England, the same as this game their defence was probably top 3 in the world, but their attack seemed to be missing that cutting edge, despite really good accuracy

Poor performances against poor teams and just squeezing the win It's a shame, because every year i get so hopeful and there seems to be so much promise and every year it never happens However, for sure this is the best period in terms of performance from a Scottish team since the early 2000's

That's what's wrong with Scotland and its supporters. The score was 30 to 15. they were twice as good as you on the scoreboard. It wasn't close. And even if it was you lost. Stop settling for being gallant losers. It's the wrong mentality, you can drown in a foot of water, or a thousand metres, you're still dead. Stop saying good game, well played, they did well. They didn't they were comprehensively beaten

I would really love to hear the referee's explanation of what exactly Koch was supposed to do differently for the penalty on the stroke of half time (5:32). The call was "not rolling away" - but he makes the tackle, hits the ground, and then *instantly* moves away. He doesn't rest on the Scottish side of the ruck for even a fraction of a second.

The problem is the ref sees the hands rather the body movement to move away for clear release. Koch had his hands on the ball always without releasing after tackling. Which constitutes an infringement in the ruck

Koch didn't do much wrong himself and neither did the south african player over the top of the ball - the problem was koch rolling away allowed the SA man to get his hands on the ball because the scottish players weren't able to clear the ruck, due to Koch. It's been penalised a fair few times before and is more just unlucky but fair as koch allowed SA to turn the ball over

Law 14.5: Tackle - Player Responsibilities "Tacklers must: - Immediately release the ball and the ball-carrier after both players go to ground. - Immediately move away from the tackled player and from the ball or get up. - Be on their feet before attempting to play the ball. - Allow the tackled player to release or play the ball. - Allow the tackled player to move away from the ball." At what moment exactly did Koch breach one of those responsibilities? There's nothing in there about making sure that when you make a tackle, you fall in a position that is convenient to the opposition players trying to clear out at the ruck. It just says you have to move away immediately, which he did.

The first penalty should go to the Boks. Mapimpi over the ball then taken out from the side, and the SA 14 tried to get out the way. after a brilliant tackle.

I saw that it was obvious that it was a foward pass but because it was two maybe three passes before the ball hit the South African player, I think they just let it slide but I agree it was forward for sure. And im not a Springbok fan im an Aussie.

Mate saffers would complain at a funeral, they win 30 to 15 got away with a couple of decisions and they're moaning . I'm a kiwi and since neutral referees came in we beat them 3 out of 4 tests, home and away. But they honestly believe they won most of those tests. No One ever beats them, you just score more points than them

I like how the Scots can score off a forward pass, but every single phase of a Springbok try gets scrutinized even AFTER the conversion was kicked.

Nah man - I know it hurts going down to the NH sides and true your coach was a bit of a weird appointment who hasn't hit his straps relative to predecessors or some of the other top coaches out there but your team is still awesome and will be a force to be reckoned with as always come RWC time. At least for NZ when times are hard it's measured in a relatively slim loss to an Irish team that played literally the match of their lives. Our dark times were measured in half tons and donuts with Alister Coetzee in charge, a true clown, the likes of which will never be foisted on the ABs setup.
