Confronting Noise Pollution and Embracing Silence: A Journey with David Choe
Artist David Choe delves into the pervasive issue of noise pollution and the transformative power of silence. Speaking candidly about his personal journey, Choe explores the cacophony of modern life, from the relentless sounds of urban environments to the internal noise we generate ourselves.
David Choe articulates the struggle many face in a world filled with distractions and constant noise. He shares his own experiences of running away from silence, using distractions as a way to escape the deeper truths of life. Whether it's the sounds of traffic, construction, or even our own voices, Choe highlights how these external noises can drown out our inner thoughts and hinder our ability to truly think and reflect.
Through meditation and self-reflection, Choe found a powerful spiritual practice that helped him confront his fears and embrace the quiet. He discusses the significant impact of this practice over the past few years, emphasizing that it wasn't an easy journey. Friends and loved ones played a crucial role in urging him to slow down and listen, prompting a profound shift from a life of constant running to one of stillness and introspection.
Choe underscores the importance of making the journey from the head to the heart, describing it as the longest and most challenging journey one can take. He addresses the need for "kindfrontation," a term he coined to describe gentle and kind confrontation that encourages growth and understanding. This concept is pivotal in learning to ask for help, to be vulnerable, and to open up to feedback from others.
The video is a call to action for those seeking to wake up from the metaphorical slumber of distraction and noise. Choe stresses the necessity of making a conscious decision to wake up, to embrace discomfort, and to take actionable steps towards living a more present and mindful life.
Join David Choe in this enlightening exploration of noise, silence, and self-discovery. Learn how to confront the distractions in your life, embrace the power of silence, and embark on the journey towards true self-awareness and inner peace.

"the longest journey you will take in life is from your head to your heart" ... im a muslim and ive been in this process for ages, and i have mental health isssues which hinder me, but i know what to do, i just am not strong/pure enough yet. But thats a beautiful quote. Ive realised the only way to live through the heart is to 1. purify myself and become a 0 in a world of 1's and 2. Love people for the sake of god and expect nothing back. Anyway, cried when you cried on jre, going to go watch that now in one of those core edits to let out some pain lol.

Pro tip to wake up easy: Make sure to eat enough protein bros u will feel amazing. 40% of Americans don’t get enough. I was lacking then started 2 proteins shakes a day and the dopamine is back up high daily. Better sleep and everything. Just a reminder but it’s key. Without enough you won’t feel awake / alive. This video reminded me of it. Without enough protein it was harder to wake up in the morning (low dopamine).
