I'll never forget the Cubix Build-A-Bot Sweepstakes that 4Kids held where you design your own Cubix robot, send it in, and both 1st place and 2nd place get made into actual robots on the show, but only 1st place is credited by name. I remember losing my mind when I placed 3rd. That marks the only time I've ever placed anything in a sweepstakes. But then when I saw the robots who placed 1st and 2nd, I remember thinking mine was much cooler. But I got the full line of 6" action figures and Cubix Racing Robots for the GBC as prizes, so I wasn't THAT mad about it. lol.

My sweet sweet boy, my childhood hero! Where all the other kids gushed over Superman or Batman, I had Cubix and had no shame in telling the other kids about him. Honestly it's safe to say that he singlehandedly is the sole reason I'm such a huge robotics enthusiast as I am today. My heart gushed when I heard rumors back in 2009 that they were going to reboot the series, but fell once it set in that they were just hearsay and nothing more. As much as I would LOVE to see my cubey boy make a grand return, in current scheme and state of reboots not being all that great I wouldn't want to risk tarnishing my fond memories of him. But in the right hands.... maybe. A friend of mine passed me along to this and I could feel it all swell back up in me once again, all the sweet memories of my childhood gushing over this series the best and only way Kid Me knew how lol. Thank you for highlighting such an underappreciated and overshadowed gem like Cubix. His curious and wholesome nature was one thing of many that let him stand out like he did even in a short time. Also rest in peace to Steve Irwin, the voice of our beloved Kan-it. He brought so much love and character to such a quirky robot!

Jordan is by far one of the most graceful critics of media on KZread. I love watching these nostalgia filled recaps of old shows I used to love, and while so many are riddled with quality and production issues, he never forgets these shows were made in earnest to entertain and excite kids. I appreciate that he never forgets behind each one of these shows, there was a cast and crew working real hard jusr trying to entertain and make their young audience smile, 30 minutes at a time.

I honestly didn't remember Cubix until I saw this video, then a few dim memories came back. Even as a kid I wasn't a huge fan of it tbh. What struck me watching these clips of it is how expressive the characters are. For early 2000s CG animation, it somehow manages to convey more emotion than some of the CG anime out there today. Which, given that it was made by a South Korean studio, makes me a little sad that Korea and Japan haven't really pushed the bar much in two decades.

I actually love Cubix, I have the DVD Movie which is a condensed version of the first episodes, possibly the first season I think, I had the GBA game Clash N Bash, I have the PS2 Game and remember watching it all the time when i was younger. I'm extremely disappointed to learn there isnt a DVD Set of the full series and that its hard to find, id love for Hasbro to reissue the series or something along those lines as I feel it was a good for its time series given 4Kids usual track record of dubs and shows, I'll say lots of my love probably comes from nostalgia but growing up i found solice in robots and machines, so the series hit really home for me as i could relate with Connor a lot, so even if the characters werent as fleshed out or deep it still held up to me, even today after watching this video i just wanna go back and watch the series again, hence my disappointment at its accessibility.

This video came at the right time for me. I have been revisiting some of the shows that aired on Vortex like Justice League unlimited. The show was familiar to me but I was more interested in shows like Sonic x, and Dinosaur King. I am glad I listened to my younger self because, the main plot for the first two seasons of Justice League unlimited, came from Batman the Animated series (BTAS) Season Superman the animated series (STAS) and Justice League, and Batman Beyond. I fell into the rabbit hole of the DCAU for a while and it has left me astounded of how amazing it is. I am little bit mad at myself for not giving it a chance earlier, but I am glad I watched it when I did. Cubix is another show I hope to revisit as well. It was one of the shows I didn't watch because of the way the animation looked to me. I can say for certain that I was somewhat interested in seeing the world the show created.

Even though I scrolled past a ton of other obscure shows, I was still very surprised to actually find a Cubix video. I didn't get to watch a lot of the series, due to only getting the opportunity to watch it when staying at my aunts after school, I'll always remember how cool I thought it was and wished I could watch it every day. But oh god, the CG of that era hasn't aged well for me.

I remember I never watched Cubix as a kid primarily cause I could never find it on to watch or even read a T.V. guide. But, I remember one day I went to Blockbuster and noticed the Cubix game was on the shelf and was pre-owned for GameCube for 7.99. I some how convinced my mother to get it for me instead of renting another game as I would be owning it so we would never have to return it. The thing I remember most about that game is that when the characters speak their entire head bobbles just like a bobble head during a violent earthquake. The combat was literally rock, paper, scissors on a wheel and mediocre puzzles at best. The thing one thing I truly appreciated about the game was the robots designs and "attacks". In all honesty I think the game was worth the 7.99 but no more than that.

I remember having a weirdly vivid dream that Cubix was directly responsible for Connor's mother's death being unable to save her when the family (including a baby Connor) got involved in a severe car accident on a dark & stormy night on a canyonside road. In this dream version of the show's story this incident is why Connor's father Graham doesn't like robots and has a personal grudge against Cubix. The thing is, it was formatted like an episode with Graham having a particularly bad day, taking it out on Cubix, and the episode is interspersed with flashbacks of the incident. This all culminates in a car incident happening on the same road with Connor & Graham, with Connor nearly dying and Cubix being the only one who could save him at the cost of great damage to himself. It turns out that Cubix ended up in the shop because of the incident where the mother died, Cubix having shut down due to grief. Cubix reactivated precisely as it was the son of the woman he failed to save because Cubix had to choose between saving Connor & saving his mum. Cubix is repaired in the episode and Graham forgives him for being unable to save his wife now understanding it was an impossible choice to make. Given I can still remember this dream in detail 20 years later is bizarre and I was so convinced that this was a part of the show's story that I was left deeply confused when I couldn't find any mention of it.

I wonder since Hasbro owns the rights if they've considered trying to tie Cubix in with the Transformers, like maybe the existence of Cybertronians inspired the people of Earth to make their own robots with personalities and powers such as Cubix for instance. Regardless, I wouldn't mind a reboot with better animation and storytelling if Hasbro gets around to it.

They could do that. Take the Go-Bots for instance. While Hasbro doesn't have rights to the toyline, because they own the fiction from buying Tonka, Go-Bots were retconned into the Transformers multiverse as another dimension. An homage to their rivalry back in the day. They could do something similar with Cubix if Hasbro really wanted, but only if the South Korean rights holders approve it.

I remember back as a kid I could never wake up in time to watch it on the Fox Box, but I always enjoyed just about everything I could wake up in time for. I also remember watching the entire series on KZread a couple tears age so I could see it again and actually know what the heck I was watching and I honestly found myself enjoying it as much as I did in my childhood, the 3D animations of that era were always something interesting to me.

I watched cubix as a kid , being only roughly 4 or 5 I fell in love with this show, and I had the ps2 game . I use to replay the first few levels because I didn’t know what to do, but I liked the puzzles . This show was the sole reason the first dog I ever named was cubie, short for cubix … I know that doesn’t make sense , but I was 5 give me a break . I love you dig insight to this show , as this was one of the few shows I have super fond memories of , including things like Pokémon , medabots , DBZ,Shaolin showdown , yugioh , coconut head … just so many early 2000s cartoons- OH CODE LYOKO! .. just fond memories, thank you for taking a look back in time .

I don't know if I can properly express what this video has done for me...I have had weird memories of some random robot game from deep deep in my childhood and have NEVER been able to identify what those were about...until now. Seeing the thumbnail just clicked it all into place. That's one life mystery solved! Thanks!

Cubix Showdown was fun. I replay it pretty periodically. That's actually where most of my Cubix memories come from, rather than the show. As a Pokemon fan I liked making teams of different bots, but I feel that and there being a rock-paper-scissors system are all they really shared(aside from voice actors). The mini-games in Showdown's party mode were neat enough for kid me and my older cousin back then. Industrial, ambient and electronic, the OST is really something to talk about, just for how unique it is(at least among other games I've played). I think a longplay would be worth checking out by those interested.

I remember as a kid I entered a competition with my sister to draw a charcter who would appear in an episode , we sent our drawings away and never heard anything so we forgot and moved on...10 years later! we both get big envelopes with our drawings back and a promotional poster and stickers for Cubix. what makes it weirder is that we had moved house twice since then

The only other show they left this imprint from a lost vhs I couldn't find was 3-2-1 penguins
