Just couple of hours I checked your channel to see if there is a new video uploaded. And I see new video when i got back from work. Could have wished for a million dollar may be and that would have granted that too :). Great video Matt.. AS ALWAYS :)

Thanks for the review. I ride with the Roam V1 and its great to see Summit Segments added to the V1 as well. Ran updates on the V1 and there it is! Sounds like an upgrade isn't really necessary.

yep it works - the drawback is it only works on predefined routes. I rarely use loaded routes locally, but I've used it on organized rides, and when I've traveled.@@VolodyaSenkiv
Looks great! And if I didn't already have the Bolt v1, this would be the one for me. Hope they continue to update v1 a little while longer

I’m a big fan of Wahoo bike computers but TrailForks integration on Garmin is pretty nice for mountain biking. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Cool! I want one! If you use wahoo System training it will send your “indoor” training plan to the device so you can do that workout outdoors.

Good review Matt. I LOVE my Roam (guess I have to now say v1). Do you think Wahoo is taking a page from Garmin and releasing hardware updates in short succession and maybe ticking off their customers who bought v1 just a short time ago? Garmin was all hot and excite about the 745 (watch) on release and now its essentially abandoned. Maybe an extreme comparison as the v1 is still a very capable head unit. I would like the more colourful screen to distract me from my misery on climbs but... will have to check out the software update though. Still love my Roam v1.
@mlegrand

Wahoo typically continues to update devices. I think they'll keep a 2-3 year release cycle on these computers but I could be wrong. I think they might need a faster turnaround on their watches to help catch up to the competition. You should update that Roam V1 and try out the Summit Segments feature. 👌 It's great for hilly routes.
One of these days, I'll become a real cyclist and get a computer. Your videos will probably help me choose.

@@mlegrand I've always been too budget restricted for both. When I finally get a power metering device, I'm going to want a bigger, more convenient display than a watch, though. I'm doing better. I'm 3 months into a much less stressful, higher paying job. Dealing with some medical issues, but nothing horrible. Gotta get back to consistently making videos. Stay well, my friend!
I love when you show your bike with four computers on it! It makes me giggle and happy inside. You had that suggestion, right? The convex buttons? Did they listen to you!?!?!?!!?? I would agree with the GPS accuracy... how often is this a big deal for users? (I'm ignoring watch type GPS) Okay... you're talking about all the things I am rambling about... How many colors does Garmin have? I'm not seeking superiority for Garmin, I'm just curious. Oh man, that thing is so small compared to the Hammerhead/1030. That refresh on older devices is so nice, great job Wahoo! Does Wahoo have a screen sleep option? I do that with my Garmin and I reckon I get 30-35 hours on a charge (I know, but I can't see the data!?!?!). Just curious. Lukewarm is the wrong word, but as I've watched, you haven't been "OH MY GOSH THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER" to many devices. Do you think that is a product of testing so many different tools, being in the industry for a while, or something else? I appreciate your effort making these! XOXO

Good question! I need to be more positive when products are awesome. I’d say I kind of gush over products that are amazing value. The forerunner 255 is impressive. We’ve talked about that Instinct 2. It’s impressive. In a lot of ways I’m impressed with the HH Karoo 2. But I always try to point out the good and the bad in these reviews.
I do agree the color and the way they display metrics does make me envious. My edge works fine but it’s just blah in comparison

@@mlegrand yeah for sure. Oddly enough the bike computer is one piece of tech that I’m not really interested in swapping out. I think if the edge takes a dump I’d just start using the fenix. Maybe when the Apple BikePad comes out 🤣

If only they could deliver on software features and bug fixes in a timely manner. I really do like the user experience of the UI of my Roam v1. They’ve had layoffs in the past year. They seem to spread themselves thin when it comes to software support.

I know right? I really like the old Bolt. Not much wrong with that device. Thanks Dave!
The only thing that deters me from Wahoo is that there are still NO street names on map (or trails for that matter). When I go out for a ride, without a pre-planned/installed route, I like to browse the map to figure out where to go next or how to get somewhere - street names are essential. I don't want to have to use a phone for that.
