Today was adventure! We started out fishing a local lake trying to break my PB largemouth bass and then ended up hitting a spillway on the river for some late afternoon multispecies! The best fish-catching days I ever had was while wading shallows (up to 3.5 feet) on Lake Lavon northeast of Dallas. Most of them came from water a foot to foot and a half deep. All were caught on Bumblebee paddle-tail jigs (white, yellow, chartreuse, or combination of those) or black/chartreuse tiny tube jigs with concealed lead jig.
Great video with some great friends. Just a thought .. I grew up on one of North America's best Perch fisheries. Everyone thought those great 1lb fish would never run out so DNR relaxed the spawning season ban. Guess what .. perch fishing is now banned and if you hook one you're lucky if its 6" and 6 oz. Just a thought but we have to protect the resource. Keep on fishing.
