caught 2 3pounders on the wacky today

Caught my PB bass on weightless wacky rig. I don't have any nail weights but If I want a faster fall I just take a bit of split shot and put it on the hook, works like a charm

Just started getting into largemouth bass fishing since I got my kayak and the only thing they bite is the wacky rig with a black with blue flake dinger or stik-o. The biggest I got was on junebug tho. The smallest I got was green pumpkin but black with blue flake wacky slays the bass on my river so far 90% of the time anyway. The water has been kinda dirty though.

Neko rig is my favorite we went to the river and caught 24 largemouth with a 6 pounder and throwing any other baits you catch 2 at most

About 35 years ago or so the so-called wacky rig was invented by a guy in New Jersey and was labeled the jersey rig. Since the designation and the design of this rig came from New Jersey, the Southerners did not like it because it was a Yankee invention. Bass fishing is very dominant in the south and they did not like that. So credit should be given to the name jersey rig and I am not from New Jersey. Well, I think credit is due to the guy who invented it. There was also a guy who claimed to invent the drop shot when I have an uncle whose father came from the Ukraine in the 19th century that’s the 1800s and they were fishing The drop shot in the Ukraine and I went fishing with him in the 1950s And will used the drop shot rig. However, there was usually 1 to 2 hooks on this line not just one and we caught s lot of fish.

You can add a little action to using a skirted nail weight.

Just use hooks that have weighted shank. He'll of a lot easier.

I have never bought a nail weight before but I feel like you’d lose A TON of them, just like you lose a ton of senkos when fishing them. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’ve never caught a bass on a jig. Caught 9 bass in 2 hours on the wacky. One was a 5lb. Whatever works for you is what’s best for you to throw. Guess I gotta work on my jig skills
