On February 9th, 2023, we hosted H.E. Santiago Cabanas, Ambassador of Spain to the United States, who discussed Spain's diplomatic and trade relationship with the U.S. (and North Carolina) and offered insight into ways to continue strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
Additionally, as a longtime career diplomat in Spain's foreign service, Ambassador Cabanas shared his perspective on Spain's role in the world and regional alliances, including NATO and addressed Spain's response to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, European politics, and ongoing geopolitical challenges in Europe.
