I was just playing the HEADLESS CHILDREN cassette a few days ago. My older brother got it back in the late 80's when it came out. Great tape. MEAN MAN. The Chris Holmes anthem.

You made me go dig out all of my OG vinyl. I have the debut (yes, an all-time classic), The Last Command (autographed by all four members - RIP Steve - from a record store signing when they opened for Kiss) and Inside the Electric Circus. I also have the 7" picture disc for Animal and the 12" for School Daze and Blind in Texas. I saw them in '85 opening for Maiden and then again in '86 with Kiss. I was supposed to see them with MSG/Armored Saint in 2022 but the plug got pulled before they came on cuz the show had been oversold. Then I was supposed to see them with the Saint again this passed Sept, but that show got cancelled because of Blackie's back surgery. So, I guess two times is going to be it for me. Keep up the good work!

I was pissed off when I saw this box set was a vinyl only release. Hopefully we will get a CD release of this. I love those early WASP albums.

Always like how much detail you show on these box sets. I have 98% of those B sides on CD reissues of Inside The Electric Circus and Headless Children. R.I.P. Steve Riley

I'd like to say 84-92 is the best years of WASP but to be honest I don't know their discography after The Crimson Idol. The Headless Children was the second metal album I ever bought (in 1990) and to me it's their best.

I'm like you if I have to have it I will. I have a fair amount of WASP. The Last Command was my 1st album from them. Great boxset. Waiting on the Doro box.

Killer box set from a killer band. Probably not picking it up as I have all the WASP I need already, the first 5 albums, live…in the raw and best of the best. Not much after these I would listen to 🤘 The most outrageous band in the world……. WASP I had a Headless Children shirt back in the day, was my favourite shirt for a couple of years

Of course the OG king has these lol. Give Unholy Terror or Dying For The World a listen, they won’t replace the 80s material by any means, but there are some great songs on those albums. Cheers to you BVD 🤘

That's a fantastic addition to the collection Darcy. One of the best looking box sets I've seen. Yeah no dud albums in there. Hopefully they'll do a CD version of it as that vinyl version is a bit too expensive over here. Yeah they're one of those blends of styles that you can't pigeon hole. I've always thought of them as a heavy metal Alice Cooper.

My friend saw W.A.S.P. on 11th December 1986 as opening act for Iron Maiden in Nuremburg / Germany. What a great package then ;)

Had all the early vinyls way back when,,Last Command was my first one ,,still have all my original CDs so a remastered boxset would be great..First saw them on the 1992 UK tour,have had tickets to see them twice over the last few years but the shows got cancelled....

That looks like a really great boxset. I hope they do release it on CD? If they do I probably will buy that box set on CD. My all time personal favorite is their debut album also. When it was released in 84' my close friends and I were blown away by W.A.S.P. and I still listen to it every now and then. Awesome! Classic debut album. Great video Darcy take care brother🙂🤘🍺

All I can tell you is it’s a great set!

I loved playing my acoustic guitar to the live in RAW tape in the parking lot of the Paradise Lanes Bowling alley. Unfortunately I was working security that night and someone broke into a car when I was concentrating on the chords progressions to early WASP songs. I sucked at security. Janitorial jobs were easier for me.

My first time seeing W.A.S.P.was the same tour in 84 with Krokus, in Fresno California. Helix on the bill too. What I heard around that time Krokus wouldn't let them do the raw meat and limited them on most of their stage show. Blackie tossed posters to the crowd instead ha ha...They still blew Krokus away though

Thanks for showing us the ins and outs of the set. I pulled out my original pressings and they replicated all the center rings really well! I have an original pressing of Crimson Idol that I picked up in England many many years ago (I think it might have been UK only?) and that’s what the center label looks like…just white with the red stripe. It was on the Parlophone label so it said Parlophone down the red stripe originally. I wasn’t planning on picking this box up, but you might have sold me.

The Crimson Idol Is a great album! 🤘👍

This looks like a great box set. I have all the OGs up to Live In The Raw from back in the day and have the 2 disc version of the Crimson Idol on CD. I also have the Animal Pig shaped disc, the 7" double pack of Wild Child and the 12" picture disc of Scream Until You Like it as well as some of the other 7" singles. I still love these early albums today, and would definitely choose the debut album as my favourite, probably because I bought it when it first came out and played it a lot.

Sweet. I'm planning on getting the set as well. A bit pricy....but worth it. Great vid

@@martymartin2894 I do really like the albums from 2000 on. Dying for the World, Golgotha, Babylon, Unholy Terror, Dominator and The Neon God albums are all great albums. But Idol has been my favorite since it came out and I don’t see it changing.

Also, you made a comment on how cool a big poster of the WASP heads on the stakes would be. I have one I bought as a kid that I proudly display. I can shoot you over a pic if you ever want to see it.

That’s a great set buddy, it appears to be very well made. I’m not sure if I will ever start collecting vinyl but I always enjoy these videos.

Definitely a cool box set, nice they made Crimson a double vinyl, the b sides album is very cool, any Wasp is good imo, enjoy the spins

Hope you feel 100% soon. I've been sick since coming home from a trip. WASP is a band I'm extremely late to the party to but, enjoying what I'm hearing

Yes I think they really tried to stay true to the originals, that is a sign of a good reissue or box set!

Agree regarding the poster. I think it should have been put inside of the Live in The Raw (essentially - Inside the Electric Circus tour era). But I found the poster inside of The Last Command too. One thing I don't like with this box set are those white thingies ( i guess you can call it "fluff", "fuzz" - not really sure how to call it in either of the 4 languages I'm fluent in :D ) that are sticking out here and there on the edges of sleeves, even the inner labels on the vinyl (I can see in this video that you have that at least on B-sides record). Looks like it was massively produced / printed on a single roll of paper and connected to eachother with those thingies, then cut apart. Irony since it's only 2000 copies so they should have done it with more care, imo.

What an incredible band! Like you, they have always been one of my favorites and Blackies voice is top 5 for me. Just so unique. Looks like a well put together set. I enjoyed the heck out of this video as always. PS- got our first snow here in Buffalo yesterday on halloween. I heard you mention in a past video that you already had a decent amount. Let's hope we both have a winter without a lot of snow. Take care my friend 🤘

I don't know if you have it but in 2010 Snapper Music released a very special edition of the WASP debut album,2 CD set with an extensive booklet including a lot of band''s pics,singles covers,Kerrang! covers,articles,tour dates,pictures from the legendary Live at the London Lyceum gig,the second CD included bonus tracks,B-sides and live tracks. A brilliant,awesome edition!!

The studio tracks are on the bonus LP in the box set, hopefully they will reissue the Lyceum performance from 1984 on a blu-ray, it would be great if they got rid of the 'americanised' crowd noise and put the original crowd noise back. I have been to hundreds of gigs in the UK since 1979 and i have never heard an audience like the one on the lyceum video. As an early teen, a wild teen brought over the s/t cassette. That early sound was outrageous. Blackie on bass. His voice. I got more and more disappointed - as vital members got canned.

Hey Darcy! That set does look awesome! Unfortunately, the price is keeping me from buying it right now. Fortunately, I do have all those on cassette. As far as the studio albums go, I'd say my least favorite is The Electric Circus. Some of the songs on the album just kind of lost me. As live albums go Live in the Raw is fantastic, I used to play that non - stop. The Manimal is easily one of my all - time favorite WASP songs. Darcy enjoy your new box set and as always my friend stay heavy!

Hey, Darcy, this was the best unboxing video of this partcular box set I've seen so far, and I've watched a few. Also, I must be crazy, but I bought this box set too. It arrived on Saturday. I already own these albums on red vinyl, but the set is just so cool that I had to have it. And I don't regret it one bit. I'm excited and happy to have it in my collection. It looks and sounds great. The book is awesome, and I'm looking forward to reading it soon. I ordered mine from Amazon, and it was delivered in pristine condition.

Reading the comments here it seems the label for Live....in the Raw was different in US/Europe. I have the original European and it has the standard capitol label. Also the European press of the original debut has got I Wanna Be Somebody written on the spine which has caused eternal battle for the title between W.A.S.P. and I Wanna Be Somebody. I'm only interested in The Headless Children. If they release that one separately i might buy it. Pasi

Nice looking boxset, but waaaayyyy over priced for what is I think. I'm just a first 3 and Live In the Raw guy, thankfully I grabbed all of them on OG vinyl before the world went mad! I've never even heard the Crimson Idol, how about that for a revelation! Great video though, cool to see what they put in it and your thoughts on it.

It’s probably over priced by $80. Overall, I’m happy with it because if I was going to try to find original pressings of these albums in mint condition they’d run me $50+ each anyway. We need find you a OG of The Headless Children, it’s better than you remember 👊

I own an original Live...in the Raw with a Capitol (coloured) label, made in Holland. First album I bought was Inside the Electric Circus, still my favourite. Not gonna buy this box, have all albums on vinyl. keep up the good work, grtz from the Netherlands.

Great review. Has the bonus record got ‘lake of fools’ on it? That was a superb song which was the B-side of The Real Me. It sounded awesome in stereo with Blackie’s voice panning the speakers. I may get this for Christmas or the Crüe Shout Box Set. Hmmmmm?

It's definitely a good box set. I'm really surprised you haven't owned them all on vinyl back at the time, were they hard to find? Crimson Idol did come out on vinyl yes. The original 80s records in most cases for albums not just WASP were coated in a glossy finish. The Matt finish is a new thing nowadays.

I didn’t have much vinyl back in the day, I went from cassettes to CDs. Spent a lot of time cruising in my vehicle back in those days, so CDs were the way to go!

I remember going to AMES department store as a little kid with my recently divorced mother and siblings. She was trying to make us feel better about bring away from our home we grew up in and maybe missing our Dad. She let us each buy a record. They sold 45 singles back then. My sister got Debbie Gibson, I picked up WHITESNAKE Still of the night, and I think my brother picked up KISS. That was kind of the end of the vinyl scene on the mainstream, after that I bought cassettes. DOKKEN,and MOTLEY etc. Now that Vinyl has come around again I cant possibly afford to buy it, lol. I barely caught up to CD's and now they are discontinued, go figure...

For that price I want an actual piece of raw meat hand throw by Blackie himself.

I have an original LIVE..RAW vinyl. It has the grey saw blade label you showed from the box. Also has the custom photo inner sleeve. I also have the cassette which sounds better than the vinyl - or at least my VG+ copy. I disagree with your low ranking of this one. IMHO it is one of the best live albums out there . The production and instrument separation is second to none and It demonstrates the musicianship of the guys. Blackie's vocals sound too good to be live - but they are.

Have you done a video or can you suggest what to do with the hype stickers?

I cut out all my hype stickers, I do not like re-sticking them to any surface. After cutting them out I store them with the vinyl or box set that it came with. Hope that helps 🤘

Any info on the mastering chain, or how it sounds overall? I had Last Command and Live In the Raw back in the day on cassette. Looking to get the expanded two LP edition of Live in the Raw.

The only different is the original is a bit louder at the same level, but it is very slight in my opinion. I think they did a good job with these newly mastered half-speed pressings. Thanks as always for watching 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy

It's a great box set. All the reissues have the orig label design (sort of, madfish etc instead of capitol) and the orig inner sleeves, except The Crimson Idol, which was a single album back then but they just enlarged the inner sleeve text etc and put it over 2 inners sleeves. I fully expect there to be a CD box issue in the future. This was £195 (+ shipping) here in the UK from the official label outlet. They have sold out. I never got a poster in any of my originals.

Belive it or not I canceled this first time around because of the price then reordered last Friday by Saturday it was unavailable.

I mean....I dont really care about anything they did after headless children. It just wasnt WASP anymore. and at $250 for the set ...

I always had a liking for still not black enough. I'd love that one to be completely remastered.

crimson idol was never my favourite, blackie seems to think crimson idol is everyones favourite and refuses to do any other tracks live... but for me, circus is one of my favourites, and hes never ever played half of those tracks live.. tracks like restless gypsy , sweet cheetah, will always be my favourites
