Most black people are brain washed from slavery days where us black people was put in categories from dark to light. The lighter you are the better you got treated, so this is what we are also following to get accepted. Your are what you are. I'm black dark skin and very proud with a lot of history behind my black skin. We should change this history and prove that we are just as good light skin people.

Whooo! Thank God I dodged this bullet. I could have been that person who hated myself, because boys hated me in school (Some girls did too). Folks said darker skinned girls hated lighter skinned girls BUT MY life was the complete opposite. I was always the nice girl, but They called me all sorts of black this and black that and would pull my hair. I can't even imagine. It's a damn shame that there's internalized racism and colorism in the black community, specifically favoriting lighter women and darker men. It's a damn shame, and these celebrities are only promoting this concept by bleaching their own skin, and having plastic surgery in general. They want to be white for whatever reason, and they bleach their skin. This also lessons the representation of darker people of color in the media in general. And the interviewers are treating this like it's a joke, it's so disgusting. Us people of color are not white nor will we ever be.
