Interesting… the blue t4 shown at the start is a tdi, so turbo direct injection. The engine shown is an early non turbo aab 2.4 indirect injection , it’s definitely an early one as it’s got the v belts and the cambelt tension is set by the water pump… fuzz actually pointed to the static idler and called it the tensioner, also said the pas belt tensioner was the water pump… either he’s not quite paying attention or the engines just a prop they brought in for filming while the real ones elsewhere and he’s winging it for filming, chances are that engine went back to the vw centre in oldbury still in bits 😁

I wish there was a lot more things like this on the telly or available, I love car SOS , but only shows minimal , an uncut version would be miles better for real want to be Mechanics

Just started learning the German Vw engines, on a petrol one at moment , Diesel T5 next , T6 later, enjoying the shared experience, appreciated, thank you. Shall stay with the older vehicles, great back yard hobby for me.

How can you go that far and not change the valve stem oil seals. He was looking at them.

i have a t4 in need of some love like this engine gets ..i wonder if fuzz can recommend me a mechanic near me down in margate ,,im sure itll cost but like everybody we dont mind paying if its a quality job !!regards geoff ..

The bus at the start was a tdi yet the engine was 2.4 non turbo and you would of changed all the seals ..timing marks ...I could go on but I like you guys sorry

What do you think about 300.000 mile engine.Doing a full rebuilt.Would that make it reliable so you can get another 100.000 miles trouble free or?

Wish i had the confidence to strip my T4 engine. I'd love to give it some new parts but also i cant afford to run the risk of cocking it up haha. Im not useless with engines but im not trained either. Also it isnt that broke ( just a pig to start in the winter) and i have learnt the lesson of if its not broke, dont fix it. I like to take things apart. Haha

I just bought a t4 automatic used by someone before but being parked for a while, but they said the gearsbox need a replacement, any suggestions to repair the box or just to buy another used gearsbox?

I wish i could tinker with an engine like this , i dont even know how to change a wheel :(

All I have had is bad luck on my t4 new engine and yesdsy first time to start it and it's bugger now so looks like another engine

1.9td ABL 140,000 miles just had a replacement cylinder head. It wasn't looked after before I had it. Shame really, because if they are, they go on forever

i know a guy with a t4 with the origional engine that has 2.5million kilometers and he still drives it every day and drives good.

Was watching this on more4 an tim cooks a chicken ,but.....dont know who looks more orange tim or the chicken !!?things you do for tele i supose..........cant say i get it
