    Brilliant!!! I have a Coleman HWOD unit that would work perfectly, just sitting atop the cutting board, and fashioning some sort of privacy screen. Thanks for the great ideas:)

    Very interesting design! it is convenient that garbage will fall not into the interior but out the door. the reverend cantrol of the water level. it is a pity that it is not suitable for winter and rainy weather

    So much more practical to have a hob safely plumbed in and use a bowl for your sink, rather than the other way around. You should really have drop vents in the gas box in case of a leak..... But a lot in a small unit.

    What is that black tube along the roof on the passenger side? Is that some kind of pull out awning or something else? If you do all cooking outside and it rains, seems like an awning would be useful. Beautiful work you've done.

  • @KirtFitzpatrick

    It's an awning. I don't have it on anymore as I have a new interior that allows me to cook inside.

  • @ronmiller7916
    @ronmiller79166 жыл бұрын

    I kinda like the setup except for use in inclement weather. If I'm not mistaken, you have no way of cooking without the door being open. Maybe if the top swiveled so it could be used 1/4 turn (inside use) or full swivel (outside use). Other than that I think it's great. And I hadn't given thought to using a sink the way you do but I will. Thanks for that!

    Hi there, I'd love one of those kitchen units, I also pulled out the jump seat in mine. Did your ceiling originally have the long drop down thing for AC or whatever else is's for? From what I'm learning about these, we can no longer get AC in these old vans so that thing in the center spanning the length of of me van seems really dumb, do you have any thought, opinions, or ideas as to ripping them out? Possibly ripping the entire interior of the ceiling out and maybe painting, paneling or gawd knows what? I have two of these here in Maui that I rent out and I'm trying to think of ways to make them more user friendly, and most importantly, cooler for me when I take them out to play. Any ideas would be great. Do you have a toilet in there somewhere? Fridge?

    I took my AC out. I used to have the long AC tunnel in the ceiling as you describe but it no longer worked. I hear rumors that you can get a small AC unit that lives in the dash on the passenger side but have yet to look into it. You can get new ceilings from Sewfine in Denver. I have a fridge in there now. No toilet, gross. ;-)

    Awesome setup! Does any water drip out of the connections around turns if you're filled to the max?

  • @KirtFitzpatrick

    It does not. I usually spray a tiny bit out after I fill it though. About a drinking glass worth. Just to pull the water out of the fill and overflow lines.

    The stove is a suburban, you can find them anywhere. The water tank is a Ronco tank. I think it's 11 or 14' high and 21' or 22' square. You can find it on the Ronco site.

    Any idea what a rough estimate would be to build this ??

  • @KirtFitzpatrick

    @KirtFitzpatrick

    7 жыл бұрын

    Depends on the build quality. This has $1k of materials in it and another $1k in unused materials and tools. If budget was your thing, you could lower the spec and lower the build quality and get away with maybe five or six hundred. Water tank was $350, water pump $100, stove $100, hookups were $100. But the biggest expense is all the tiny things.
