Taken off. Replaced. Tested & Passed. Win Win. Chicken Dinner. See you in the next one. Cheers.
Brilliant. I have to replace the pipe that is directly south of the cat on my girlfriend's polo this week and this has been a big help to figure out what I need to pull off to get to that end of things. Much obliged.
cheers for the tutorial mate now i can straight pipe my car
I just got a p0420 code on my 1.2 AZQ 2002 Polo. About to attempt this myself. Wish me luck
Mine’s almost the same age (52 plate), 1.2 12V 3 door and same colour, just failed MOT on emissions, bought on 28k three years ago but always had a lambda sensor fault, reached 66K. Glad this video’s here to help me when it comes to changing the cat soon 😁

Good luck, I love driving this little car, even at nearly 22 years of age it still feels solid and has bags of life left

I like this wee one, my 2nd son's car. amazing how many 20+ year old Polo 9n are still on the road. tough little car and ULEZ compliant too
"Fiendishly tight" 😂

by the way when faced with a fixing that is too tight try to tighten first. may just break the friction and allow you to undo
'VADGE' fnaaarrrrr!!!!!
Cheers for this mate, did you apply any copper grease etc to gaskets?

@@churchhouseclassics cheers, I stupidly snapped one of the manifold bolts whilst installing the last one due to torque wrench being set incorrectly by spinning it on the bolt before
I have a 2005 Fabia 1.2 twin cam which was burning oil at a rate of 1 litre per 100km. Reconditioned engine fitted but kept throwing up an eml for lambda. Replaced cat and both sensors and problem solved. The cat must have been clogged up because after fitting new cat the back box started rattling like a bastard but hasn't got any worse in three years. One issue I do have have from time to time is a lambda fault on bank one. Unplug sensor, clean with contact spray and problem goes for at least 6 months.

you have a fickle one it seems, especially with the occasional temper tantrum thrown in for good measure
I suspect the extra bracket on the front of the new Cat was for a heatshield ?
can you please advise about the code of the new installed catalyst?

Hi The description of the Cat fitted to this car was BM Cats Type Approved Catalytic Converter + Fitting Kit - BM91302H_FK91302B. I had to confirm VIN with supplier to be sure of the correct product
Just rebuilt 1.2 /new valves and seals (6)3new pistons and rings/big ends and main bearings+chain and tensioner /all parts from germany 500 euro /oil control rings coke up then oil gets past into the cat /2006 n9 if you dont do it yourself the car would be a rightoff
