Started with a 2008 Spur, enjoyed the elegance & power for 6 years. Now in 2022 got a 2010 with 55k 3lt TDI Phaeton just remapped & DPF + EGR removed. Just wanting to enjoy a EVERYDAY cruiser with elegance at budget running costs. Inside feels & rides like the Spur, Outside looks like a common VW. Perfect sleeper.

Even with some things beeing lost in translation, this is a very useful video, especially the technical data (transmission codes, brake size etc.). It's also a very interesting comparison, since I think many Phaeton owners wonder about what it's like to 'upgrade' to the Bentley :)

I've just got Phaeton 8 weeks ago. Removed the DPF & EGR now remapped & more 4mpg & 50hp. Also enjoyed the Spur, But maintaining & fuel costs was adding up. So Phaeton is now a humble sleeper. Looking forward to the part 2 please. Enjoy your cars.

Smashing video have shared as I own a 2010 3ltdi v6 lwb loaded in Black . Mine has full service history Volkswagen ,and new disks and pads ,and all of the normal things that need doing. At the moment I am enjoying its Motorway crusing to get me to my place of work,and that is the key ,it makes you in many ways Happy.

Very nice video! Funny with the Bentley and the Phaeton. Both still have the blue protective foil on the rear trunk striker. The thing that you can push in. My Phaeton had this as well. Someone at the factory must have forgotten to remove this. I love the details and comparisons between the Spur and the Phaeton. Original audio with subtitles would be great as well, but this English dubbed version will appeal more internationally. Looking forward to part2. My experience with the Xj compare to the Phaeton was the, Xj after 40k of 80% motorway driving. Was more feed back from the road, beautiful cruising & no fatigue after doing 1400 miles in one day by 2 drivers of course. I found the Xj was more hard wear & tear on the braking & suspension system, but the 3lt engine & gearbox set up was a joy of love. Phaeton is still early days, so far, it does usher you in uber luxury. The 3lt is more economical with the DPF & EGR removed, with more of a kick with a cushion of air on your backside. Also feel I'm more a common man than a snob, when using my 6lt Spur. The w12 is a engine to be experienced...
