Hi love your videos I too have a ej swapped 74 super beetle. I have a question about the 90 degree elbow you have the throttle body mounted to, is it something you bought or something you made I'd love to know as I have flipped my intake but I need some more clearance so my deck lid will close all the way great videos thanks for the help

Steffan Dixon thanks, it’s one I made. Originally it was only 90 degrees so it didn’t allow for a decklid spring so I remade in a full 180 degree bend. I used the gaskets to trace out plates and a 180 degree mandrel bend

Thanks for that - How long did it take to replace ? I have the same issue in the same car - 2008 Mk5. Often 3 or 4 cranks to start. Battery check is fine (although its only a 700cca not the recommended 780cca) Can see the RPM sitting at about 100 rpm when cranking, until it starts to start, sometiems wont start when warm either. Also where did you get the new starter motor and how much ?

xmanflash it was about 45-50mins. I got the starter off eBay it was $161AU

@@BoostedVW Thanks! - I took the battery out to test it, put it back in, and the car starts fine now!! I guess I turned it off and on again!! (And the ECU was reset!!)

Was around $250AU from eBay.

Shame we couldn't see a bloody thing 👎👎👎

There wasn't a good video and there still isn't ... man put some light on the situation
