I had a 77’ VW diesel when I was in college many years ago.. and the most I got on the highway was 55mpg! The car did rust out pretty badly...the rear axle came lose which led me to get rid of the car. But I would run the car on kerosene sometimes....when I was low on cash 💵. I bought it from an original owner in the late 80’s...for $200 dollars. It was white like this one.. I am not sure if it was a 4 door.. but it did have a sunroof. I cannot remember how many miles it had.. but it was AWESOME in MPG❤️❤️

Dam you are good. Wonder if a small turbo @ like 3.5 psi would be too much for this ride. Been thinking about picking one of these up they are so cheap and I have always liked hatchbacks and diesels.

@@JunkVWs Financially I am broke right now, cannot find a decent job. I am IT and Network CCNA but the place i live not much prosperity otherwise I would rebuild a MK1 and fulfill my dream. Thanks for the motivation...
