My dad died just before the first lockdown, leaving my mum on her own in a very remote spot in Wales. I struggled mentally on my own in Sussex so I decided to change my life, move up to mums and renovate an outbuilding with her. Complete change for me after 25 years sat in an office. I binged watched your chanel and learnt so much that was useful in our build, so thanks so much for your content and virtual company on the long winter evenings. I have also bought a van so I am going to enjoy watching your van build progress. I bet your dad was very proud of you. Chin up and best wishes 😀

I absolutely fuckin love this idea brother. I've wanted to do this for the last 20 years I've watched every shaggin video about converting there is and it looks so rewarding. There's a guy on you tube called Greg virgoe his vids are excellent. This is gonna be epic bud. And I'm gonna save all my pennies and buy a thousand tickets to win this bad boy cause if I'm sure of one thing your gonna do a proper job of this and spare no expense so this will be a beauty when it's done. Your old man is so proud of you pal your a great person who does a lot for others and you should be proud of yourself and your achievements and don't let life or anybody beat you down. Love this and can't wait for the video's I did one a few years ago on an extra long wheel base iveco not the easiest of things to do but was real good fun I put a full length awning on mine with full safari room which doubles the size of the van. 👍

You sound tired Liam, and like you've lost a little bit of your spark. Lost my dad a couple of years ago, and its pretty harsh mate. Working on my VW van is my absolute passion, and its not a full camper conversion, but more of a kombi day van. I used silent coat for sound deadening and wool insulation behind the panels. I'm sure you're gonna love it once your juices get flowing bud🤘Looking forward to seeing the progress😎

Sorry to hear about your old man. I thought about doing this as well but always too busy. I too have my own joinery business. Clyde Joinery Ltd Just bought an 18plate rafter but I have a Renault master sport lwb all colour coded that I might tackle. If I get time. But might end up selling it on. Hope your get on okay ith the build and its good to talk mate. Don't bottle things up. Phone a mate go a walk, take up a sport ie golf etc. Get away from all the work you constantly do man. I've been there too! But better now. All the best mate I'll be watching to see how you go.

Liam I agree with all the positive comments below. You have been an inspiration to me and thousands like me. It's hard loosing someone your so close to, but bear this in mind when your mind is in a dark place, we are all with you matey, so your never on your own and to prove that just pop up a video, tell us how your feeling and the response will be overwhelmingly positive. Bollocks to the arseholes who say any different.

about that sleeper thing above the drivers head, i'm pretty sure that rob and chris from the salvage rebuilds channel did a camper van with one of them in it, think it was a transit at the salvage yard they looked at, so it is possible i'm sure you'll find a way to make it absolutely perfect regardless of what you do

Hi Liam, might be worth checking out a KZread channel called 'Living the Van Life' - he's recently done out a VW Sprinter (I think) so you could get some decent ideas from him, storage, diesel heater position etc. The guy is a bit annoying but his set up is pretty class. I'm also looking at ordering one of your build plans but just wanted to ask some questions about location, stuff like that. I'll send you a message on Facebook at some stage soon. Sorry to hear about your mental health, I think you're doing the right thing in converting the van, but I'm worried it also may only be a bit of a stop-gap. Might be worth seeing if there are any social sports clubs based around Leeds (if you're in to that kind of thing!). All the best, keep up the good work, and I hope I'm brave enough to start my own garden office soon!
