Another great video. I've said before that I'll never do a build like this and this is true. But I am, hopefully, going to live in an an off grid home. And as I hate 'house work' I want to keep my living area to a minimum, so most of my time will be outdoors. As a result I've spent a lot of time looking at yacht builds, which also maximizes space. Your version of this has been invaluable.

The grey Puntinella worktop looks good and is easy to replace if someone damaged or drops something onto it . Lovely build , I know what you mean about the router slip I did the same , you see it because you know 🥴 👍

Yeah. The laminated worktop will take a real battering too. Love the Evo stuff. Worst case if someone really does a number on it I can order another one. No real bother. Basically unscrews 👍🏻

Come a long way since I last checked in mate. Looking great, good shout on the sliding door card. I recently jetwashed under the van, forgetting I had the sliding door open and that panel got covered! Mine wipes clean luckily. 👍

Hi mate. It’s another version of the domestic. All kinds out there. The worktop in the silver can only small. And having a sit on induction hob so went for sink only 👍🏻 The Evo stuff cool mate.

@@urbanarkoverland I'm really fancying a Webasto dual top Evo 8 but not sure it will fit where I want it. Looked at the diesel Truma and the JP diesel Truma chinese copy. Also like APE VANS water heater in his Kong build. Still undecided but the webasto is in the lead at the moment

@@stephenbulmer7148 I looked at the dual top. Way too much for what a van without an actual shower needs though.

when I insulated my floor and it was raised I moved the door rubber up. I drilled and put in two rivnuts It was really simple. Didnt think about the sliding door getting wet, ill keep that in mind thanks. I'm really stuck with the electrics and dont know where to start. Any tips would be great. would love too see your plans

Yeah. I actually talked about this with Andy. He is lifting his floor by 30mm. So we sussed that for him. I will if I need to. It’s just such a shame as it’s a couple of mm 👍🏻

I'm inspired by the tweed you have used. Iv delayed the fabric wrapping as I have a dog who casts and most of the choices I have made have been with his needs in mind lol. From your experience is tweed working for you on the interior other than that door?

Yes mate. Works great. It probably would have been fine on side door. Just preferred the wipe clean capabilities of the laminated ply 👍🏻

where can I get the B pillar covers Aidan ? You know the ones after the bulkhead is removed. What side are you putting your main electrics board ? cheers bud

Hi mate. They are from Mercedes’. Unfortunately I do not have part numbers. I’m putting electrics passenger side. Find it the natural place as electrics go up over sliding door 👍🏻

Another question, so discussed today my lovely tweed with my trimmer and after he frowned that it was not four way stretch he raised his concerns about trimming the areas around the side and rear door opening saying he may not be able to stretch it. First question if I may ,did you foam behind those areas as well, basically how did you achieve such a great finish using the tweed which has no stretch? Sorry to ask another advice question….. I have said to my trimmer urbanarkoverland has managed it:)

Ha ha. You do have to put joins in. It’s not easy. But if he is a trimmer he should know. It does have a direction. You will probably use it as left to right if the roll as opposed to up to down. Like the opposite of wall papering. Which means the pillar will have a join half way down and then one in the corner. Then do the head. (The top). Yes I used 4mm foam around door pillars 👍🏻 do you follow me on pink square social?

Sorry, but you need more bed slats, the distance is too far. The distance should be approx as the width of the slats

Doesn’t look like you’ve done much my arse 🤣 It’s probably more finished than 90% of the self conversion’s out there. Good tips on the slider… I would have put an elastic storage net on the top cupboard to disguise the gap. 👍🏼 🚐

That’s a good idea. I’m actually fixing my diesel heater dial and a few electrical bits up there. Changing the panel is easy enough. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I concur Jonny, I am putting in the exact same ceiling as Aidan with the panels from Evo, the foam, the Tweed fabric, cutting out the fan aperture, the puck lights etc and its a lot of work believe me. One big tip is to get the ply panels because it saved me even more work and stress. Working above your head is one of the most difficult jobs, especially on your own. I'd be lost without Aidans videos as ive studied them even down to the positioning of the lights from looking at the nylon bolts. 2 days so far and ive still not put the fabric on as im waiting for more glue.
