Hi Chris, First off, thank you for your excellent videos on the VW California. They are incredibly informative and have swung it for me to purchase a California Ocean. With the lengthy wait times (and recent VW price hike) I could not be picky and was able to get hold of a cancelled order via a main dealer in Crawley - I live in East Sussex. I have a. Brand new 6.1 Cali Ocean! I have a question as my van is currently in with the dealer for the 3rd time relating to an interior lighting fault. I would really appreciate whether you can confirm something for me: There has been a fault with the interior comfort cab lights from the outset in that they did not work - door open, only the rear came on. This has now been fixed (with replaced) however when opening any door, all the interior lights cabin and living space, come on. I am led to believe by your video (and the button on the lights in the cab) that by pressing the button for the rear lights, they can be set to either come on or not when any door is opened. Otherwise what would be the point of the button? Can you confirm this is the case please? If this is supposed to happen then the dealer need to fix them, however, even after watching your video (yes, I sent it to them) they are claiming that the rear living space lights ALWAYS come on when a door is opened and that cannot be changed. This makes no sense to me. I would really appreciate your help with this.

Hi Chris, another great video 👌🏻 Can I ask what is the round date sticker on the tailgate of the California is? I’ve seen them on both Grand & California… Is it OK to remove it? Thanks David

How do I stop all the living area lights coming on when I unlock/open side door? I don’t want any lights on! Thanks

You can turn Camping Mode on and it will stop them coming on when you open the side door etc.

We're still waiting for our California to arrive with the Sports Package. Dealer orders have been delayed to prioritise customer orders. Hopefully soon!

What to do when the lights refuse to go off. I gave up and walked away. They did go off some time in the middle of the night. Is there a way to change all to manual operation only. Too much automation for a 70 yo.
