that was a sketchy trip back. Glad everything worked out and you got it back home. I just picked up a 1984 Vanagon for free a few weeks ago. It was also about 2 hours away but I had a flat bed to tow it luckily ;) just needs a new exhaust system and clutch slave cylinder and she'll be runnin' again.

When your brother starts wondering why his Honda is filling up with water every time it rains tell him it's because he's sprung every seam in the back of his Honda pulling that bus. Those rear lashing eyes aren't meant for towing on any car, they're just there to enable the vehicle to be lashed down when it's on a transporter or to enable it to be pulled a short distance to get it out of a dangerous position. Any more than that and there is a massive danger of over-stressing and springing the welded seams in the floor pan. Some seam sealer should fix the problem in this case but some cars can actually be written off by doing this as it pulls the whole underside out of shape...

Flippin hell, bet that was stressful! Looked like it was a good price judging by the amount of notes you handed over and looks pretty solid too. Prices of these vans are ridiculous over here in the UK, it would be worth about £10k in the condition it's in. Nice video guys.

That was some crazy shit you did there. It's a wonder the cops didn't stop you for pushing the Honda with the bus, nobody in their right mind would be towing that mess...............except car guys. ;)

props for towing yourself but I would a sprung the dough for a tow

This is so fucking cool

when you were towing it dyou could have put it in gear real quick and used the clutch as a brake I'm a buggy guy and thats what I do sometimes when backing down a hill. just turn it off leave it in 1st, roll back and use brakes and clutch to slow down..... not the best way to do it... but flat towing with a chain sure aint the best way either lol....
