Wow wraps come a long way just in a couple years. They now look smoother then some manufacturers factory paint.

Very impressed with these vids! Love the comparisons. More shops need to see this.

definitely agree with challenging yourself with harder films. everyone dogs on vvivid because their use to only wrapping with 3m or avery but my first wraps were with vvivid and its made working with other films so much easier.

i benefited a lot from this vid thanks! one way to differentiate the difference of vivvid and tek is tek has a haze and vivvid has more clarity.

Fixin to do my first wrap. Ive almost given up on spraying. Prep work with welding, filling, bangin out metal im comfortable but spraying... not so much. This guy makes me feel like ill have success on my F150. Wish me luck!

Thanks for this demo. I might try Vvivid next time for my car - i now see a stark difference from Avery. Avery is though pliable for beginner who does not own a heat gun.

Is there a big comparison on the satin finish when comparing Avery to vivid ?

JG vinyl has PET gloss black for only $475 which is by far the best black like ZERO orange peel I love it

Vivid is by far the nicest. Awesome video. Because of your video's i am wrapping some of the stuff on my jet ski just to see what i can do. I have been working on cars for over 20 years as a mechanic metal fabricator body man painter custom electrical custom ground up builds. Always nice to learn new things on cars. Im doing the lower hood on my jetski with vivids carbon fiber. Let me know how to send pics of it to you so i can get your opinion on how it turns out.

Are the wrapping workshops still available?

Vinyl wrap got started back in the late 80s early 90s when all the Honda owners put so many autozone graphics on their cars it completely covered the paint.

I would love to see a comparison video between 3M, Avery, Teckwrap, Vvivid, Inozetek and Oracal. Use the best Gloss Black from each brand, and if the material does NOT have a cap, then show us what is the best way to install it to limit the scratches.

3m has orange peel and you see glue lines after a few months

I wish you Demoed Averys Obsidian gloss Black in this line up because personally I think it’s a great contender

I am getting an Avery wrap on my white 2020 Kia Optima on the pillars next to my panoramic sunroof and the sides next to my windshield, in a week or so. Now I am second guessing having it done after seeing the orange peel. It’s a reputable place doing it, but not sure I could live with that peel/potential scratches from the squeegee. Hmmm...

No don’t Avery is by far the best quality. All the pros use it. Plus cK wraps is sponsored by vivid so he never talks negative about it.

You might have whatever opinion about 3M but in this test should be their 2080 with the protection layer, also Inozetek and Cheetah would be interesting to compare... However good job as usualy and nice looking shop. Good luck!

“RG dare to change” got a gloss black similar to that Teckwrap stuff. Very minimal orange peel. The avery looks horrible compared to it

Having watched this video I have to ask myself: why would anyone use anything other than Vvivid these days, and why haven't the others caught-up in terms of no orange peel, a stretchable protection film, small air release pattern and decent guidelines on the back? I mean, I'm a layman but it seems to me that's what properties the ultimate material needs to have (although even Vvivid doesn't have all of them).

because vvivid is the hardest to work with. it's thick and difficult to manipulate without ruining it.

Do you know how hexis orange peel compares to vvivid?

Was this just Avery Gloss Black? They have an Obsidian Black now which is a deeper black, though the glossiness would be the same most likely

Vvivid uses the new plastic release liner now? I need to try them out

Measure the parts you wanna wrap and then add like 3-4 inches and then you’ll get the size you need

Air release comes out of the edges of the film, not through the film. The cap responds exactly the same way the film does. It stretched and shrinks with heat.

We spent a long time mimicking the memory and stretch through to the new plastic liner.

now in days they make solution to do a wet install to not scratch the film like teckwrap which has the highest gloss.. the reason why teckwrap has the highest gloss is because of the thick protective cap

You should compare this to gloss black cheetah wrap

now that inozetek dropped theirs you need to add it to the line up

I tried vvivid and Avery before. You get a real nice gloss black with vvivid, meanwhile Avery looks very cheap. Almost like having a trash bag on top of your car.

Y’all are asleep on kpmf’s gloss black, best gloss black out right now with minimal peel and it’s pretty easy to install

Avery all the way. Mine didn't have any scratches. Vvivid is hard to work with for amateurs like me.
