I enjoy hearing you speak about yourself in a positive manner. I retired from work early at age fifty and over time I gained about 90 lbs. I started turning down invitations by ex-coworkers because of embarrassment of my weight gain. Hearing you talk about feeling confident makes me I think back in my mind and remember feeling that way because I was always very fashion conscious and often received compliments about my style and how my clothes fit. Being overweight makes your world become very small, going out only when you have to go. You really are a wonderful ambassador of weight loss surgery. You look absolutely amazing! The hair loss journey situation…😭 Yes,my hair got very thin around the front edged both sides and I literally started melting down but thank God that turbulent train wreck has passed. Sighhhhh. This new VSG life is the best. Just wish I had’ve done it years ago. Great update video.

I'm with you. I'm at 8 months and almost 100 lbs lost. I am determined that this month I make it there, You've made me feel fine about not making it yet. I do have month to month achievements. Last week, I was standing for more than a half hour without feeling back and knee pain. That's been very good for me.. I'm a long way away from my goal weight but I started out about 100 lbs heavier than you but I am very happy so far. Congrats on your accomplishments.

OMG! When you said that bit about "Watch Out for the Big Girls..." I used to HIDE whenever that song ccame on because I HATE that. It is so upsetting, because people really didn't notice how embarrassing that was. I’m 7 months out too! I’ve lost 186 lbs or more?? I’m at 200 lbs and my goal weight is 180 lbs! I’m trying to get to 170 so I can have a little room to move haha. But yessss I’m so happy for the surgery

I have decided to get a gastric sleeve in February and your videos have given so much peace of mind, so thank you 🥰 You look gorgeous by the way ❤

Yass honey! I'm 8months post op and feel soo confident! I love how I'm carrying myself these days vs how I was soo sheltered & depressed before. I get all types of invite aswell 😂😂... my arms & breast are the same. Definitely looking into panniculectomy (I think that's the proper name for it) cause this loose skin around my belly has to go 😂😂😂 I will pay whatever extra for my breast🤭. @@lisasantana3175 yup!! I spoke to my Surgeon and he gave me the break down. I have started a paper trail with my pcp aswell so when they want clinical notes it shows that I'm having an issue with the "extra skin'. I work with insurance so I know how strict they can be...

You such an inspiration. It's only been 3 months for me & watching you grow just motivates. Give me something to look forward to. My issues is my hair is starting to come out now & my taste buds have changed. I don't care for certain foods anymore. I use to love pasta now I don't care for it. I tried drinking coffee & it did not agree with me. And my face is breaking out like crazy. I have never had acne. Now I look like pizza face.

I love what you associated being invited out more to the energy you now embody. I think as someone who has been going from an ambivert ti a complete shut in I am hoping with surgery my energy will go up so I will want to go out. People still invite me but the invites are becoming less and less

I’m 6 months post up SW 255 CW 165 🎉! Acne and hair loss, the struggle is real! I have microlocs and already have fine low density hair. I see my hair shedding daily so now I’m in the process of combining to medium locs. Acne on my chin and near my eyebrows . One goes one comes,crazy. Finally treated them with Cetaphil and acne pads it’s been clear for the past month. The pros out weight the cons. Best decision I made. Btw Girl You Look Gorgeous!!

It's so easy to be mean to yourself! My husband and friends can tell me all the time that I look great or I'm a nice person but if I personally can't see it then those compliments mean nothing. I'm so happy you love yourself enough to be nice to yourself! I can't wait to get there. I'm working on it.

Hi Karen, you are doing great. I'm 3 days away from being 7 mths post op and 14 lbs away from 100 lbs lost can't believe it. Yes, I've dealt with acne too but wasn't sure if it was due to surgery or hair vitamins.

I developed cystic acne after the surgery, and I had never dealt with that before. So yes, I think that acne is a huge side effect to this surgery. So happy for you and your progress, you look amazing.

@@karensandiego So many pros and cons to this. I use 4% benzoyl peroxide wash during the day and then I use differn gel at night that seems to help keep it at bay. It’s what my doctor suggested for me.

I developed cystic acne after surgery too! I noticed that taking hair vitamins made the breakouts worse for some reason. The breakouts finally stopped at about my 10 month mark. I made a year today.

I've got more acne than before for sure! I was told that because there are hormones stored in the fat cells, these get released as we are loosing weight and it can cause all kinds of symptoms(including acne, pms, period-changes etc)

Adult allergies happen as well. I became allergic to shellfish as an adult.

It’s so weird !

Love your videos! I looked up an acne chart and the forehead suggests food too high in fat , processed foods and digestive problems. Acne on cheeks suggests stress, allergies and too much dairy. Do you think this is accurate? I’m 4 months post op to the day and last week the hair shedding started 😅.

Hi Ladies just be mindful that pulling you hair back doesn’t help with hair loss due to weight loss. The pull just stimulates the hair to shed much more easier. Hope this is helpful

Have you ever tried Zumba? I've been doing Zumba for 11 years. Also, try these products for your hair, I was on Keto and my hair fell out. My hair grew back with the following products, Mielle Organics Rice Water Milk or Palmer's Cocoa Butter & Biotin Length Retention Vita Gro. I am hoping to have surgery in December or January.

I was just thinking about doing Zumba from home ! I’ve done in person classes before and loved it

I’m 1 week post op but I’m struggling right now 😩😩😩. I get super hungry around 1-4pm everyday and it’s horrible

I watched another youtuber that said she got acne after surgery too. Said her MD told her it could be due to increased protein because of hormones in meat. Not sure if i believe it, but iI found that interesting

Allergies are the worst. I found out I'm allergic to Carmine and it's in almost everything

I always hate my arm since 16 uhhghh can't wait to cut it

I was told wait 18mons for surgery

I don’t work out often , I just try to move my body often through walking or dancing

Now it all makes sense , why I’m newly allergic to my dove deodorant 🤦🏽‍♀️

All my life clean skin now some bumps on my chin area smh

I use to be able to eat shrimp and in my 20s I developed an allergy to them. Maybe you are experiencing food allergies as you’re getting older.

I grew up eating avocado now I throw up so bad when I eat it or even smell it.

I love watching your videos but we’re you over 200 lbs because you said towards the end of the video you highest weight was 183 lbs and you lost over 100. I’m sure your just excited about everything I would be. I’m at a little over 40 lbs lost and 3 months in on a gastric bypass

Not because if being fat. Because of being depressed . When I was bigger I never wanted to go out , never wanted to socialize … so that led to a lot of disconnect between me and my friends . I didn’t want people to see how much I gained so I just avoided socializing at all . Plenty of people are overweight and happy , but I wasn’t one of those people.
