for a good price you can use queset 2 as a cheap pc vr headset for comfort buy the kiwi elite strap and a kiwi 5m long link cable and you can experience pretty close to the valve index for 80$ more

After owning the oculus n rift s I was very happy with the performance and Quality, but decided to trade it in for the quest 2 thinking it would translate over I found out the quest 2 as much as I tried to like it was just not as visually impressive it definitely lowered the immersion aspect and quality feeling with pc streaming, recently decided to sell that one to despite owning a large catalog of games on the platform (standalonw games were lacking anyways) so i preordered the psvr 2. Hoping Playstation will have better games than meta, so we will see. Maybe I'll even pick up a rift s if I can find one for pc vr. Just my two cents.

Cosmos elite is awful, the only thing I liked about it is base-station tracking and audio

Unfortunately in my country VR headsets are still too expensive, maybe one day I'll be able to aford them without compromising my personal economies.

The Index's controllers are its *weakness* not its strength. Those things are more fragile then a glass cannon. And the issue with its display is more complex than its resolution, the lenses themselves are inferior to even the original Rift's.

Completely agree. I had the original rift and "upgraded" to the index. What a horrible decision that was! The only improvement was that VR "looked" more clear, but the overall experience was garbage. Every game I played made my avatar a foot too short, no matter how much tweaking I did, and the horrible controllers completely ruined any immersion. I wish I could return to my original rift, but the display cable is broken, and finding a replacement is very hard.

Really? Everyone are praising Index's controlers saying how comfortable they are, they have finger tracing etc. etc. I mean yeah, I've also heard about fragility being a major issue of the Index (not just its controlers) but to say they're its weakness you (and @CrackaSource) are going against the stream

@@xGOKOPx Is your brain capable of comprehending the very idea that people value and weigh different things when making their purchasing decisions? This is why reviewers exist. No two reviewers should have the same exact perspective on a product as different people value different things. Everyone wants IGN to give their favorite game a 10/10 but they'd be better off searching for reviewers that share their interest in genre and perspective of what a game in that genre should be like. (If that reviewer *is* someone at IGN then all power to you) I voiced disagreement with this particular reviewer because I felt this durability aspect should be factored into someones purchasing decisions for a new headset and deserved to be commented on within the analysis. A reviewer should not merely be a vehicle to restate "consensus" opinion. (Not to detract from the overall value of VRElity's video). For example, the Index has darker blacks and wider FOV than the Quest 2, but I would never buy it over the Quest because I value the durability, superior lenses, and higher resolution of the Quest 2 *more* than these "advantages" of the Index.

so as a VR virgin, should i just suck it up and wait until the new models come out?

Well some games are only available for pcvr meaning you need a computer to be able to run them yes.

This was clear and cut to the chase. I was thinking vive might be a good investment. But with all the good things ive heard about oculus i might wait for 3. Also, as an update, the market value of the meta quest two dropped back down to $299 plus tax. Accessories not included of course. I suspect thats to rake in any new sales in the last few months before the big quest 3 debut.

Happy to hear you enjoyed the video and yes I agree with the points your are making. the quest 3 should be coming out later this year will you get that one?

I'm fine with a cable because I don't want to stand up to play a game. I don't want to jump around and wave my arms like an idiot to play. I want to sit on my sofa and play my PC and ps5 like I do now. And I'd never put things on my walls for tracking because I'm not moving, I've paid over ten grand to build up my setup and I will not downgrade the experience

I suggest average buyers to wait for the Quest 3. It should release around October-November. Quest 2 is too old now. Pico 4 is a solid product but, Pico's software, apps/game library and features like hand tracking is not yet perfect as the Meta quest series. It will get better with updates, but by that time Pico 4 might be too old or will be out of support...

I have no idea what I'm going to choose my favorite VR. But when do we get a fulldive VR headset? I mean no offense, but if we keep waiting for the fulldive of VR headset, it will take like forever. I wish palmer luckey created the fulldive VR headset and made a vrmmorpg game called Dungeons & Dragons VR online. Or maybe Elon Musk creates a game and the new VR headset. Both palmer and elon are good thinkers and great prodigy.

@@VRelity I thought it was the Rift S. It’s actually the Oculus Rift CV1 But comes with 3 Sensors, touch Controllers , Xbox Controller and Headset. The only thing missing was the Oculus Remote… but I still picked it up. I only paid $80 for it. So I hope I did good😅😅 Also some Rockband attachment thing 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

You can’t do 8K with the quest. It does not have an 8K display.
