I think like you said, for the solidity and luxury feel you're going to get a trade off in weight. Plus those chunky looks are not about being efficient. Personally as someone that only drives a journey of more than 70 miles maybe once every month this is plenty for me. I'd rather have the looks and comfort.

Agree with that, I'm retired so don't have to worry about such things except when going on holiday, but even then you can plan ahead for chargers etc, personally I would go for the C40 simply for the sportier looks, but apparently it drives better as well, so for me a C40 is a no brainer.

Plus, to be honest, it's not a ground-up EV. For a more aerodynamic and efficient yet roomy Volvo small crossover you still have to wait until next year and after the bigger XC90 EV successor is introduced. There's but so much Volvo can do with this weight and design. You don't buy this car for range. Not all EVs have to be bought because they have the best range.

Hi Kris. I own an XC40 P6, and have actually been on the road for 380 km today. 80% motorway, and the consumption have been only about 21 kWh/100 km on the motorway part. Dry weather and 19 degrees. The full trip ended with only 18,7 kWh/100 km. Is there a difference in the weather in Norway and Denmark that is so significant? I am really happy with how our XC40 performs. 12000 km covered so far, from March 2nd till now, at 19,4 kWh/100 km. Average speed 61km/h.

@@MrDavekee yep, but in the wintertime you might have to take your precautions, given how harsh your winter conditions are 😊

Given the price for what is a Chinese vehicle, this range data is quite poor. And the test was under fairly benign conditions with just one occupant. Add some colder weather and its going to be really poor. Thanks for your careful review. It's significant that both you and Bjorn Nyland are operating in Norway, where charging is pretty good nationally. Try living with this vehicle in the Uk, where charging infrastructure is poor - you'd be looking to trade in for a Tesla Model 3 or Y.

@@benjaminsmith2287 I wonder if he makes any comments on range rovers and jaguars as "indian vehicles". To be frank, VOLVO excelled under Gheely without any compromise (and there are dozens of proofs for that)

@@rinustalarin It's so ridiculous, the amount of people calling Volvo "Chinese." If anything, of the companies that have parent companies, Volvo is more autonomous than most. Geely has been a great parent company because they expanded the Swedish operation rather than started to have Volvo adapt some of Geely's tech or platforms like Ford did. Yes, they did propose a merger at one time but that didn't go through. People have no clue of what they're talking about if they call Volvo or Polestar "Chinese."
