Great, thorough review as always Thomas!
Some years ago we rented a Volvo wagon when travelling abroad, and never before I considered the option of owning a wagon until that time :) What a car!
I would pick a wagon over an suv anytime. High sitting position is overrated and is not really a perk

From an American with a golf sportwagen, I agree. Simply said SUV’s suck to drive and wagons have plenty of cargo room. We have a stigma against wagons due to the American made ones from the 80’s and before:( if only we were only offered Volvo, BMW, and MB, and Audi wagons.

A very merry Christmas to you Thomas ! Thanks for all of the excellent reviews during such a bloody appalling year.
Handy buying advice at the end of this informative video, Thomas. Thank you.
The quality of Volvo is exceptional ❤️
Thanks for another great review Thomas!
Just got mine 1 week ago and I am not desapointed... I already was a fan of the Cross Country line up for almost 20 years but this is the first I can get. I like the "All road" line up too but to me this one looks a little more discreet. I knew that Volvo generate cleaving opinions and around me some people love and some people hate, for the exterior and for the interior all well (especially with this 70's looking brown wood combine with the brown leather seats that I have on mine). All in all I'm very happy and coming from a Honda CRV, the confort driving experience suits me very well. Thank U for all your german's quality reviews
Merry Christmas Thomas. All the best when the time comes.
The speed limit doesn’t matter really in my opinion because Volvos compared to the german competitors are not very stable at speeds above 180 km/h. However in Sweden the asphalt is rougher and made of larger gravel to let out rain and meltwater more efficiently. The Volvos are in my opinion the best adapted vehicles for long bumpy noisy swedish roads. The sportier german competitors can easily become tiresome on longer journey to for example the ”sommarstuga” (cabin) which a lot of swedes go to on fridays through sundays and on holidays. Love the content, this is best car channel, in the world. Thank you.
Splendid footage !!!
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for the content, quality, and character your reviews represent. I 'honestly' value 95 percent of your review content above all others (not so much re: door handles (personal), exhaust / appearance (objective), haptic evo (a post-familiarity perspective needed), and in general, disruptive macro / gobal 'metaphor' interface change (interface revolution - evolutionary vs quantum change / improvement). In my opinion, Autogefühl / you, are the category leader in value, utility, information, and quality, still. Das Professor, still. Thank you. I'm 71+.
I really like this vehicle, thank you Thomas for giving us information
This is the best car for Thomas. It suits him best. Stick with it!
Thomas, you did a nice job!) Thank you man) But if possible could you include measurement of the noise level inside the cabin in your tests? In dry weather. That would be great i think. Thanks again))
Great review again thomas . Im glad the model turned out to be the b4 . And not the b5 as the title suggested. 👍
Another great review, thank you Thomas and team! I wonder how reliable these new generation Volvos are. I had two XC90s, the V8 model had engine internal (balance shaft bearing), transmission (valve body), AWD (controller and pump), chassis (wheel bearings, ball joints), and electrical (alternator, fuel pump controller, radiator fan, CD changer) failures almost all before 80,000 miles... while the 2.5t model only had AWD failure (broken coupler splines).
Interior feels like home, i love it ♥️
Just discovered your channel. Excellent, thank you.

Merry Christmas 🎄 Thomas
Great review as always, even though this new cross country model has never sold in Brazil. Here in Brazil, the speed limit on the Volvo doesn’t make any difference, because the roads (except from São Paulo state) are not very good and most drivers are rude. Merry Christmas Thomas!

Hi Thomas perfect video. Are you considering review the all new sorento please? Thanks and wish all the best in 2021.
Elegant V60 and a great review👍🙂
Already got it a year, diesel, also in Maple. Great car, spaceous enough, good torque, lots of options come as standard on the cc, ground clearance but lower center if gravity vs suv. In 2 years i go for a hybrid one.
Wool seats? Those seats are the best seats I've seen in a long time. What a great idea to use that material. Interior looks great in the new model.

A step forward in comparison to animal leather indeed. However if you take the sheep wool like you would get a personal haircut or like you would go with your dog to the dog parlor, sure, no problem. But in many cases, wool production is sadly combined with animal cruelty. If you ask the manufacturers of the seats where the wool is coming from, guess what answer you get? None. Thomas, is there any noise from the MHEV system ? (like it's in all hybrid Toyota models)
Hi, I have 2019 V60 II with 139kmh limitation for pilot assist. does this new Volvo have the same limitations?
Regarding the 180 km/h soft limiter decision I find it completely ridiculous that people get angry about that. Germany is the only country in the world as far as I know where you're allowed to drive that fast, and even then, it's a pretty damn stupid thing to do (for obvious reasons I hope). In literally every other country there is zero reason to drive faster, or even at 180 km/h, and on top of that it's illegal. Please argue with me on this, or comment if you agree. I'd more than like your side and views. But for a safety-first company it makes total sense and hats off to Volvo for taking such a bold step. Also, Volvo doesn't technically own Polestar anymore so that's probably why PS hasn't made that decision yet.
@dreamcrusher112

Autobahns are very safe - might be stupid to go 180 where you live but don't generalise. Elsewhere, limiters are okay in non-sports cars.

I don't understand why people complain about the auto shifter. You can do two quick taps to switch between reverse and drive...After the first time it becomes second nature
@AJtheSwede
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah same. My BMW had this type of shifter and my father and mother loves that over their XC90 standard bulky and quite brute feeling auto shifter. They had a V60 CC with this new shifter while theirs was on service and they'd much prefer to have this new sleek one. And like you say two quick dots is actually faster than ripping that big stick, which still involves going past neutral so the same 2 steps haha. All around a much better shifter than the old huge stick. If you ask me and my family at least :)
Thomas, how would you compare it to the passat?
180 kmh in most countries is 50 above the max speed limit anyway. Most people never go so fast anyway. Its like being upset that you cannot visit mount Everest.
Is the evolution from the 2019/2020 very significant ? As you tested each one :)
Merry xmas Thomas! I can't work out properly the UK online V60 configurator, as a non-leather interior for the V60 CC seems impossible! But irony - while Volvo and observers go on about Volvo safety all the time - BLIS always seems to be a £1.6K extra on even their highest spec versions! Agree about Volvo max speed limit even in Germany really, and the Polestar 'bollocks'. But by 2022 in Europe, ISA (Intelligent Speed Adaptation) may be introduced, so even a new Ferrari or Porsche may be limited in speed in certain areas! Thanks for your professional work. Best wishes.

Nice review as always. I actually really like this new style with wool fabrics that some manufacturers are going for. I know Autogefühl strive for complete animal free products but I think wool has alot of pros as long as it is from sustainable farms with good animal welfare. As for the speed limit discussion I think it is more of a political one than a practical one. Like Thomas said there are not alot of times even in Germany where you will drive over 180km/h. As for why they did not do it with Polestar it is the reason Thomas mentioned with the BMW. Polestar is a "racing" brand, it used to be Volvos racing department before becomming it's own company, and so they believe perhaps you will take your Polestar 1 or 2 to trackday and so it can not be limited to 180km/h. Perhaps they could make a special software unlock like in Tesla but maybe they did not see the point.
Jouw Duitse accent is charmant. Vriendelijke groeten van Marcus uit Holland :)
Please make one about Mercedes GLE Coupe 350d model 2018, the first one
Whats the problem with wool? Its sustainable and bio degradable but the pet plastic mix in will likely never be recycled again due to the cost prohibitive process of doing so, and its not bio degradable?
Beautiful car, not liking this new trend of acute angle seating where the horizontal seat is a bit ramped up. Recently I had the opportunity to drive a WV Multivan and found the high, 90 ° seating is very comfortable. Asking autogefühl viewers, do you know of any SUV with similar position?

It's very hard to see this lovely vehicle in the USA. Most new Volvos sold in the USA are SUVs or CUVs. It's even hard to find an s60 or s90. But when you see one it's, "wow," that's a handsome car. This interior is very familiar, still nice, but I do look forward to the next gen Volvo interiors and I think the Polestar 2 gives a hint to that. I prefer the wool seats to the city weave.
Thanks for a great review and short comparison vs German cars. Would you suggest any Japanese or Korean models in the same category and value for money, especially for internal comforts and quality? Merry Xmas!

New Diesels are so clean and truly moved on from Diesel gate. I have a Euro6 AG meaning tested to real world conditions and I don’t smell anything from the exhaust when it’s running. Feel new Diesels being unfairly dismissed when compared to electric cars which have to have the metals for the battery mined. Not against electric car just feel government s to quick to turn there back on new the new Diesel engine especially now that twin dosing technology is in use from 2020. Nice car but it feels a bit IKEA for me. It’s beautiful interior but I personally would want something a little more sporty and more ambient lighting VW group have caught my eye with the lights. But moving away from physical button I hope manufacturers keep volume and temperature control knobs. Those are the the most adjusted controls I don’t want talk to the car to ask and I don’t want to be distracted trying slide screens up and down I just want to turn a knob and it’s done. Thxs for the great reviews Thomas keep them coming!!!

The Volvo is good value then because audi optional extras go through the roof when pricing. Guys, let's be honest. Limit of 180km/h is mainly painful in Germany. In Poland you can of course find places to make it illegaly but... how far/long you drive over 180?
@adrianhrusca4067

For Volvo users is fine. Even so, 180 is dangerous, due to other cars which overpass slow traffic on the right. They (some) do not have time to react.

The Polestar 2 is also limited. To 210 kph. With 440 bhp it could go faster, Tesla style
I think it is a good idea that they limited the cars up to 180 km/h. Volvo will always be known for its safety features, and I believe this is one of them. One of their objectives was that they wanted to reduce to 0 the number of heavily injured drivers in their cars... As you said, you don't buy a Volvo to race, you buy something else, so that explains why they didn't do it in Polestar... Just as always great video and beautiful car!! Nice Job!!
Such as sexy wagon. Def my car if I won the jackpot in a lottery

Omg...Thomas, wool is a sheep byproduct. In the summer it gets very warm, so they have to do "haircut" to them. We have so much wool there isn't enough use for it. Also the processing is not very toxic (vs leather). Cars are polutting the environment, more or less, so do people. Leatherette must be also toxic to produce and to recycle. Great review, as always!
