And I'm getting another one tomorrow! I own a '98 Volvo V70 2.5T and tomorrow I'm picking up a V70N with police trims. All interior from when it as a police car is gone but it's the exact same under the hood. 0-100 in just 7.5 seconds and for being only FWD, it's great.

@@tntfreddan3138 as an American, I wish it were easier to get police spec Volvos here. All we have are Ford Crown Victoria's and Dodge Chargers(all that's interesting anyway)

The Porsche is fast on the straights, but the Volvo wagon really reels it in in the curves. Wait, what?!?!

This is one insane 850, respect! And the sound from that 5 cylinder motor is just wonderful!

As a Volvo (V60) owner, seeing this car run down everything but the Porsche is fantastic. But seeing that Porsche pull away, at will, is almost orgasmic.

Ich würde gerne manche Gesichter der anderen Fahrer sehen wenn so ein Koffer an ihnen vorbei fliegt. Schönes Auto, bin ein paar Jahre einen 850 Kombi 2,5 20V als Winterauto gefahren. Ich habe ihn geliebt. :D Hut ab vor den Fahrkünsten!

Everyone wants to drive on the Nurburgring, looking at the cars, not everyone has the appropriate car. The Volvo 850 turbo wagon was an amazing automobile.

I'd crap myself watching a Volvo keep up with my $100000+ car

215/40-17 adds up to 860 cm of contact patch width- I brief look at the interwebs shows GT3s of that era having 245 section fronts and 305 rears for 1100 cm of contact patch width..... Yeah- The GT3 is faster, but not by much (and it was very capable driver) . For a 25th (or something like that) of the price I'd say that was a petty good showing for a well set up old lump of Swedish 5 banger!!

Look at that bonnet of the volvo, it only confirms the feeling I have about the car.. and those squeeks and rattles.. every old volvo has that 'plastic fantastisc not'.. ever seen an old v70 get hit by a golf mark IV from behind? The golf was nearly at the driver seat..
