a good idea if it weren't for the glaring errors in the diagram; plus and minus on the extreme pins of the potentiometer and the output to the gate on the middle pin of the potentiometer, besides, the gate must be preceded by a 200 ohm resistor

You must protect the potentiometer with a 220 ohm 2w or 5w resistor, otherwise when you introduce a load, the potentiometer will burn. The heatsink must be larger when the consumption is high.

in which leg...we should use 220 ohms resisor ? In centre pin ..?

Can this circuit pass a current of 100 amperes?

The scheme does not correspond to what you have shown as an implementation because at the extreme left position of the potentiometer there will be a complete short circuit of the source. The practical implementation of true, but the scheme - not. +Vcc must be on the drain, and the middle terminal of the potentiometer - on the gate
