Wrong for more than 500 mAmp. Dont use this circuit.. not safe.. as heating to much. After 800mAmp. Load. I took reading. Its 74C+ heat.

a good idea if it weren't for the glaring errors in the diagram; plus and minus on the extreme pins of the potentiometer and the output to the gate on the middle pin of the potentiometer, besides, the gate must be preceded by a 200 ohm resistor

You must protect the potentiometer with a 220 ohm 2w or 5w resistor, otherwise when you introduce a load, the potentiometer will burn. The heatsink must be larger when the consumption is high.

If we calculate the frequency, it's about 50khz.. 1÷(2×rt×ct)=1÷(2×10000×0.000000001)=50khz..so,how it's showing only 36khz..can u explain??

Falso, lo hice no me sirvió. Con disipador grande y bombillo incandescente de 12v 21w y se calienta como cautín de soldar 😢. Quiero hacer un regulador pero que hubiera un MOSFET que realidad soporte 15 o 20A y 50w como mínimo. La mayoría se ve hacer y en la descripción ponen 20 o 30a y 150w pero no soporta ni 2% 😮😮😮😮

The scheme does not correspond to what you have shown as an implementation because at the extreme left position of the potentiometer there will be a complete short circuit of the source. The practical implementation of true, but the scheme - not. +Vcc must be on the drain, and the middle terminal of the potentiometer - on the gate
