This video demonstrates how to make an adjustable regulator that has a range of 1V to 42 V.
Ic regulator still uses LM317, and as you know that LM 317 is usually used between 1.25V to 30V.
Here I only prove that the LM317 can be used in a range from usual.
The method is very easy and simple, we just replace the usual resistor R1 using 240 ohms. I replaced it with 100 ohms. And in this way this adjustable regulator can adjust the voltage from 1V to 42V.
Of course, by using a larger input voltage, here I use the 55Vdc input voltage.
In addition to discussing how to make an adjustable video regulator, this video also tries to get the LM317 IC temperature to above 110 degrees Celsius, and is not damaged. And short circuits.

I have worked with LM317T variable voltage regulators for years and built many variable power supplies may self. However, you are over driving this regulator from the very beginning. The MAX input voltage it +40 volts. The MAX current is 1.5 amp, but that isn't free air ratings. That is with suitable heatsink. The reason the temperature rose up so high so quickly was because you were pushing past those limits and if you didn't bring it back down, I would have seen that magic smoke exiting the part. In other words, you would have burned it up! ALWAYS revue the part's specifications and built within their limits... This LM317T was never ever mean to run at 40 plus voltages as a reliable voltage regulator and anyone building one for that voltage will very soon find that out. JMHO

Thank you for input. Right what you wrote. And in the video I told you not to use input voltages above 40V if you want to use permananet, this is just an experiment. Then I prove the load, and test the short circuit. So this video shows the greatness of LM317 that I know. Thank you again for the advice and criticism. And I wait again.

@@javierhernanvelezgomez1950 no habla español, pero el voltaje de entrada debe ser ligeramente mayor al de salida, el LM317T es un regulador lineal, la diferencia de voltaje entre la entrada y la salida multiplicada a su vez por la corriente de salida te va a a dar la potencia que tiene qué disipar el regulador. La corriente máxima de trabajo es de 1.5 amperes y debes usar también un disipador de calor si la potencia disipada en trabajo es de más de 2 watts. Mi consejo es no usarlo para cargas grandes si lo quieres usar en todo su rango, o bien, si por ejemplo necesitas 12V regulados, el voltaje de entrada debe estar entre 14 y 18 volts.

Lo sentimos, solo lea sus comentarios y comentarios. Anteriormente digo gracias. Eso es lo que escribió, así que en el video que dije no use voltajes de entrada por encima de 40V, esto es solo un experimento. Y en otro video hice una manera de superarlo para que pueda usarse hasta 5A. Una vez más espero sus críticas y sugerencias.

Sebetulnya maksimum memang sekitar 32V, ini awalnya tantangan dari salah satu negara lain, apakah bisa sampai 42V maksimum. Karena itu saya buat ini. Dengan syarat M317 harus yang ORI.
