Love that Sarah realized she is a matured Kageyama who married a matured Hinata (Adam) lol. And it’s so funny watching Sarah guarding spoilers with such ferocity. Appreciate it Sarah! I’m sure you’ll enjoy a second watch too, so I highly encourage you to bully Adam into more reactions. Can’t wait for the next one.

Okay now that you're rewatching too can I just say how much I love Kageyamas "what have you been doing for the last three years?" because it hits SO different on a watch compared to first time? First time hearing it you go "wow, what an asshole, we can't all be on big teams Bakageyama" On the rewatches you go "Ooooh this is Kageyama for 'you're too good to have been hiding, where have you been all my life?'"

This is what I felt too! Kageyama's actually almost always on point with his words, but our little grumpy-yama didn't know how to make his point with a better way or nicer tone, so he always came accross as an ass 😅😅

I loved loved loved this reaction so much. Seeing Sarah rewatch Haikyuu with the perspective of the whole show is great. Seeing her watch Adam’s reaction and bring him into the world of Haikyuu is great. Seeing their dynamic as a couple is great. Seeing Adam expose parts of Sarah we wouldn’t know is great. Honestly, since Sarah first reaction, I hadn’t seen any similarity between Sarah and Kageyama, but when Sarah said ‘You should have been more outraged’, isn’t that parallel to ‘’come in faster for the quick” by Kageyama 😂 and don’t you remember when Sarah did Kageyama’s look in Ep 3 😂 DAMN. The moment Sarah described Hinata’s jump though, so cute!

Sarah's content has always been great, but this is somehow SO much cooler and engaging than what I imagined when I just read the title of the video!! It's so fun to see Sarah sitting there grinning and just barely holding back at some points, and Adam's commentary complements hers so well it's amazing; he also clearly reads the characters pretty well, and some of his insights are Very spot-on, so I'd 100% be down for you two covering the whole series again if you're feeling up to it!! One thing I would maybe suggest is, because Haikyuu has a really high rewatch value and you will be able to see so many setups and details in a new light (already knowing what happens next), should you have anything to say that'd be spoilers for Adam, maybe record it in a small separate section by yourself, if it's not too much trouble? Either way, thanks for trying this out, very excited for whatever comes next!! Oh, and I just noticed this, but "this guy overwhelms me" in Kageyama's thoughts isn't quite accurate lol - he's actually talking how he had trouble following Hinata even just with his eyes, highlighting how fast he was in that last play.

  • @dhirjogani7295

@TrianaNero Correct me if I'm wrong since my Japanese is fairly basic but @18:46 doesn't Hinata say something along the lines "Make sure you call it out loud next time" (since the two first years were just involved in a misplay where they didn't communicate). The given translation doesn't make any sense actually.

Just some general info about Japanese education system and school year that I've learned over the year: Elementary school: 1st - 6th grade Middle school: 7-9th grade High school: 10-12th grade Also, only children who fully turn 6 before the school year starts would start first grade that year, the rest would have to wait for next year. So we have Tanaka, Hinata and Kageyama all born in 1996 but Tanaka is one grade older because he was born in March (Hinata in June and Kageyama in December). School year calendar: First semester: April - July Summer vacation Second semester: August - December Winter break Third semester: January - March InterHigh tournament is usually held in July/August and for a lot of sports, not just volleyball. Spring Tournament (or Harukou) is held in January (It used to be in March but got moved up to January).

Spot on! This also explains why Asahi was born in 1995 (same year as Noya) but is a 3rd year. On a side note: before I found out about the Japanese education system, I always thought that all countries use the "standard" system - 4 years for elementary, 4 years for middle, and 4 years for high school... It's safe to say that my mind was blown. 😅

My wife got me into Haikyuu as well. She blitzed the first two seasons (which was all that was out at the time) while on maternity leave. I remember sitting at the table marking books and hearing the roars coming from the laptop. I assumed she was watching some sort of nuclear war based on the dramatic noises and music. Then she explained that she was watching an anime about a sport that she'd never played. It took me another couple of years before I gave it a try. Now it's one of my favourite things ever.

I'm here for it. I love Haikyuu. Watched all seasons multiple times, and read the manga from beginning until the end (so basically a lot of unreleased content compared to the anime). I love to see people get into the Haikyuu world (anime and manga). It's an encyclopedia for Volleyball. edit: Also, since Adam is more analytical (as you guys mentioned in this video), he'll appreciate all the technical details this series has: The serves, the blocks, the sets, the receives (the receive techniques), the exercises, the tempos of the approaching hitters, the timing for sets and blocks, the synchronization of blockers and receivers, the observation of the court, the mindsets, etc. There is so much in this anime. This series was written by someone who played Volleyball in his youth himself, and he wrote this detailed Volleyball encyclopedia in manga form, and then adapted to anime form. In Japan, Haikyuu, single-handedly boosted the interest of young kids in Volleyball, and the enrollment rate for Volleyball at schools rose to some crazy amount. There's a Japanese media company called NHK, which did a documentary on how much Haikyuu had an impact on kids [specifically boys in their data] to join Volleyball clubs. Since 2012 (the release of the manga, and Volleyball interest was actually on decline before 2012) when enrollment was at 36000 in Japan, the interest started to grow exponentially. In 2016 44000 Highschool boys at Japanese schools were enrolled in Volleyball clubs. If you watch Highschool Volleyball games of Japanese boys teams on KZread, it's crazy how technical they are. They all watched Haikyuu. You can tell, because almost all of them do the "split step" on receives. LOL That's something you don't even see professional teams use on the world stage (Brazil, Iran, Italy, China, etc.) None of them do it. Japanese Highschool teams do it, and the Japanese national team does it more often than not. Same goes for the "cross-receive" (opponent serves, and on your team one player receives the ball, and a second teammate is tailing behind him in the opposite direction - like a cross - to receive the ball as well should the first receiver fail, it's a safety). You see cross-receives in Japanese Highschool videos and Japanese national team games all the time. I haven't noticed if other countries do it too, and I've watched a lot of international games on KZread. I just see Japan do it all the time...and that's a Japanese Volleyball Style thing...which is also depicted in Haikyuu. Haikyuu is an encyclopedia for Volleyball. It's also not a story about one protagonist, but a story told from different perspectives (different characters and different teams), and it's ultimately more so about the sport Volleyball itself. It's so detailed. Since Adam is teaching kids Volleyball himself, he's probably aware of all sorts of techniques to teach. Maybe he can take a couple good ones from Haikyuu too. This series might appeal to him as a trainer.

The smile that comes across Sarah’s face at 6:49 because she knows what’s about to happen for Hinata and then Adam’s smile appearing shortly after is SO wholesome! This was a GREAT reaction episode!

always wonderful to see reaction videos and i know its hard when one of you have already seen the show but should remind Adam to not try to ask question like "is it like this? Will this happen?"

Solid reaction, but I almost feel it would be better for Adam if he was the one that chose when to pause it and discuss. That way he can express his thoughts when he wants to and ask questions when he wants to

This is awesome video!!! 😀😁👍👍 Thanks Sarah and Adam 👏 Keep them coming! I rarely write any comments but now I'm just really happy to see more HQ reactions on this channel 😀 So I'll also add some side notes about high-school sports in Japan. Those all-Japan high-school nationals the teams are aiming for are actually big events in real life there, because that's basically the moment when the players already have a very good level that's great to watch, but they are still so genuinely full of passion for the sport, and all those teenage emotions, and there is still no money involved, the game is pure. So the stands are usually full, and when it comes to semis and the final, people queue at the venue very early in the morning in order to get the tickets.

The tears in the end, from Hinata. They come from getting down of an adrenaline high, combined with the loss, of his very first and only game played. He has worked 3 years , in frustration over , not being seen or heard... so therefore the tears. I would say that it's a feeling of helplessness, being one little person, in this big big machine called wollyball world.
