Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This video basically covers some very important info regarding the MAP sensor and the SAI sensor on the 2.5 Liter VW engines. The sensor are exactly identical, bolt on the same and share the same connector but are different internally. Check engine light will come on if mixed up for whatever reason, check out the video and i hope it helps you out!! DON'T forget to subscribe!!!

25 year mechanic and i made this mistake thanks for showing this mistake
Good points and video. Those map sensors are notorious for getting oil in them and going bad. Under the TB is a terrible location to put a map sensor. As far as the parts vw probably makes em the same to save money. I believe they both function the same way.

You are right I worked in Europe for VW and this is very common for VW why making 2 different parts when you can just change a little thing like 3 wiring and 4 wiring even when you had the disc for the break make some like 4 models the same and sale it higher price you can think is a scam but is not is just efficient working for the German smart in a way make more profit well I have VW Jetta and I have exactly this problem actually crazy more of this electronic problem is annoying in other words there is no Auto Mechanic any more is just replace the parts and this is over 30 years like this and you notice this little parts cost more and is Bosh well almost all the German have Bosh and they look almost similar in the parts even VW group uses core engines across their line, Porsche, Audi, VW, Skoda, Lambo (yep), etc. And also, the 2017 US based Jetta, shares many platform components with Audi so go figure with VW what the reason is I think is profit that’s it
Here is a tip for you good people dealing with this p0106 issue. Check your intake manifold bolts, they may be loose. A loose intake manifold can contribute to a code p0106. Upon doing this, clean the inside of the intake manifold, clean out your throttle body, clean out your hoses & check your intake manifold bolts. Throttle body - torx 30 Intake manifold bolts - either a 6mm hex or a torx 40 (6 inch or longer "Bit" works best to reach) Clean with throttle/intake cleaner For map sensor, clean with map sensor cleaner and let it dry for at least 15 minutes. Map Sensor cleaner can be bought at walmart/autozone/oreily Clear out your p0106 with an obII reader or disconnect & reconnect your battery. Good luck and hope it helps you.
Thank you so much for this. Great info. Without this video, I never would have known what to get to fix my Jetta. I'd have just bought another MAP sensor
I had this thing loud, and ducked when i heard that gunshot 🤣🤣🤣 good info Hector 👍
This has happened to me with Jettas! 2011 Jetta/Golf 2.5 used a 3-wire sensor for SAI, p/n is 07K 906 051 if I remember correctly. Solved the "identical" sensor for both VW *and* Audi.
Thanks for your help.
great tip thanks!
I have a p2433 code, is this the upper one near the top of the engine cover. Heard if its not o.e.m. the car won't accept it and light won't go off.is any of this true. Thanks for any knowledge you can share on any of this.
Where can i buy the sai sensor?
I'm not getting any codes by my SAI monitor won't complete... should I do as you instructed on this video?
Thank you good job
a brief bit of hope for my Jetta... it had the correct ones though.
A 4 wire may have a temperature sensor built in it...

I have a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta SE 2.5 And my SAI is not even close to what my map sensor looks like. . My SAI is very small and it's like the size of the typical 3 or 4 bar map sensors u see on other cars
You had me at VW fuck up. 😂😂
I got a code p1166 on my rsx do you know what it would or could be?

Now if I could only get this one guy's Jetta to finish it's stupid drive cycle before the first of the year. So far 10 cold-start cycles - step by step, like VAG says. SAI and EVAP never finish, new sensors and purge valve, new hoses. Smoke shows no leaks.
I cannot find a SAI sensor :(

save anybody else looking for one time: most parts stores aint gonna have the SAI, they will only have MAPs and they will attempt to sell you one as a SAI sometimes. VW dealerships have it under the part number shown here listed as "PRESSENS"

My SAI sensor does not look like the MAP sensor at not even close . It's the small 2 to 4 bar MAP sensor you see on other cars .v

You will find them at the local part stores . But once you find one and see the price for one you will run.l from it . $170 SAI. I went to junk yard / pull your own mf part. And I paid $2 to get in and walked out with a $200 sensor just like that
Hi, I have a 2012 Vw New Beetle 2.5L Check engine light came on with code p0491 and it failed C.A. smog test. My mechanic wants me to change Combi valve and secondary air pump. I don't believe him, I'm not sure if he's trying to scam me? Any feedbacks are kindly appreciated. Thanks
