I really like this camper van

I watch a lot of these videos as I’m doing a sprinter conversion. I don’t usually comment but I have to say well done on a great conversion. That’s a beautiful crafter. “Go neiri an bothar leat” 👍🏻

@@vwadventure I'm retiring in 4 years be 60 hopefully van prices will come down. Vw crafter 4 motion my ideal van just me and my pup be heading for Germany, Poland , Sweden, Finland and Norway but the uk I'll be staying and touring so much to see here in the uk can't wait

Thanks for sharing. I'm in the research stage, ready to buy Dec2021/Jan2022. Been thinking of a 2019/2020 VW Crafter mwb/lwb for my conversion, as I need extra length. VW Crafter is on my shortlist, so it's nice to see one done up. My build will be a little more rustic - I'm no carpenter... lol But your's has some excellent features. Thanks for sharing & I Subbed. Whats a murfy bed 🤷 we have 8 inch memory foam mattress with spring system under mattress comfier than our bed at home 👍

@@vwadventure a Murphy bed is one that flips up out of the way so you have more space You loose the ability to have a garage though

Amazing van! I’m currently waiting for a LWB to arrive. Do you have a link for the seat covers, they look great. Did you fit them, or do they have to be fitted for you. Are the original seat coverings left in place underneath?

Top conversion mate....just got a LWB to convert ... really liked the position you have put your TV bracket ... benefit of watching TV in any part of the van (inside and out)... can you tell me where you got the bracket from.

Without bed pods there’s no way on earth that bed is 6 foot long matey. I’ve converted a few and that’s 5 foot 8 max 🤷🏻‍♂️😉👍🏼

Ive converted 2 & measurements are correct were i have tape measure , most people putting bed to high , very rear of van bed just under 6 ft ,

Just cabinet gas struts of ebay , was only 1.50

Great job, think im swaying towards the crafter MWB now only i need a double and 2 single beds and im 6'2. Not sure how im goimg to work the beds out. Will need the side pobs im sure. Any idea what her weight is after build?

No idea on weight but is a mwb 3 1/2 tonne & just towed 2.5 tonne boat 320 miles

Very very nice van! I doubt mine will be anything near a nice as this, but nice to see what is achievable. The bed supports look a perfect solution. Where did you import them from?

Bed supports ? Everything is mostly made by myself , beds supported by metal beams across van i made 👍

I'm thinking about buying crafter to do campervan build. Wats bad points to look out for when buying crafter?. . I know that the side trim does rust abit where clips are. Any advise be great thanks

New shapes wont rust as they sorted that problem , think old shape after 2016 was galvanised aswell , thanks for subscribing im new to this youtubing 👍

Great build,is this the new shape crafter swb,can you tell me what engine and mpg you get on a run. We are thinking of selling car and caravan and doing a van conversion but my daily commute is 60 miles so mpg is important. Thanks

After 2 years of owning ,this real world figures is 320 mile to a tank 24 mpg at 70 mph , tyres prob lost 4 mpg though , we did use to see 28 mpg before at tyres 👍

Cheers for your reply, I thought the new 2.0 TDI was much better on fuel, if you drive it at 50mph on a run surely you would see better mpg then that. Trying to work my daily fuel costs out with one of this vans,my daily route is nice 50mph plod 30 miles each way nice country road not much traffic. What year is your van take it it's just under 6m long,also what bed width do yo have I am 5ft 10. Many thanks

peter ludlow i had cut 2 inch of double memory foam mattres for bed , its a 2019 van & you might see 30 mpg if you do 50mph , we do alot of miles & go europe alot when we can & drive it like a car , done a 400 mile round trip yesterday all motorway no holdups cost 100£ in fuel 👍

When i got the van in 2008 there was no swivels for them so used vw t5 ones had to slightly modify

I think they was from jennings seating , been on 3 years now so vaguely remember , t5 ones fit with a little modding i believe , please give a 👍 on vid

Is it 4Motion? Or have you just gone for the rugged look without the AWD? I'm considering a LWB version of this with 4Motion so looking for someone who has already done one

Not a 4 motion as mpg on them is terrible , 18mpg & we go all round europe alot , its a 150 genuine highline mapped to 200 bhp ish , goes off road more than most if all out there & towes 3 1/2 tonne boat with no problems at all in 2 years 👍

Hi, van looks really good, we’re converting a 2019 mwb crafter but we don’t want a camper it’s gonna be more of a day van tourer( along the lines of a Caravelle you can stand up in and have more space) was looking at front seat swivels and noticed you mentioned the handbrake modification , how did you achieve this? Thanks Eric.

You just pull the platics of & redrill holes where it atatches to seat base , maybe 10 mm higher on handbrake , then trim plastics to suit , very easy 👍

Thanks, so you just relocated it lower?, sorry thought you’d managed to have the lever to lower when handbrake applied like the California xxl, much simpler, less complicated 👍👍👍

Where i sleep its 1 inch under 6ft but van narrows in slightly at rear were its 4 inch narrower

How is the crafter to maintain, like costs etc. over a Sprinter or a Transit?. Thanks.

Had ours from new 3 years now absolutely nothing has gone wrong with it , used every weekend , they only do 26mpg though 👍

You get 3 years europe assist with any vw , wouldnt like break down in somwere like morroco in a new vw though ?

Not the best on the space size in my opinion, but your van your space good on you pal
