The whole killing Vol'jin to make Sylvanas warchief, only to make her go batshit insane just feels like a massive, several years-long waste of two characters.

The closest thing I can think of to justify her character "change" is the fact that Warcraft 3, the books, and the occasional breadcrumb-bits of the lore displayed in modern WoW (at least from pre-Legion) painted Sylvanas as a rather dark character willing to engage in acts one might see as crossing the moral threshold by TOO FAR. One such example is in the novel _War Crimes_ (a criminally underrated novel, go read it), where she reunites with her sister Vereesa as they plot to kill Garrosh before his trial ends. Won't spoil the Banshee Queen's intentions with her erstwhile sibling, but what it entails is insidiously vile and twisted to heinous degrees. It was when Legion rolled around at its start that she seemed to be gaining more heroic qualities... until about halfway through the expansion, when her darker qualities returned with a vengeance.

People don't understand that Sylvanas was always a sketchy character, and the one person that called her bullshit out was, Vol'jin, yes Vol'jin even when he named her warchief he was having his doubts, and he was the first one to tell Thrall and Cairne that letting the Forsaken join the horde was bad joojoo, but Thrall was all about "The new Horde is about giving people second chances, and new beginnings, lets believe in them, this and the other thing", and well Trhall was right most Forsaken are nice, but boy they brought a lot of bad Joojoo, from intent to instigate a coup, to magical chemical and biological warfare. If Thrall had been the one that named Sylvanas Warchief i could see it, he had shown to not have the best people criteria when it comes to succesors (never forget they did ma boy Cairne dirty), but Vol'jin of all people, the guy that has been low key and high key hating on Sylvanas from day one? hell he "at times" even came as undead racist! That whole thing of him being brainwashed by Muzalah is bullshit.

Love Bwomsandi. Glad he has a part to play this expansion

You can really hear the passive aggresiveness in Bolvar when Vol'jin and co. just walked into his throne room. He was like: "No! Now fuck off before I send ghouls on you. I really need to get better security here."

Happy New Year Folks! It’s been almost 2 years since Vol’jin’s first ghost buster adventure. Here we finally get part 2 with Mueh’zala & Bwon Bwon. Vol’jin singlehandedly brought us the BFA and Shadowlands expansions. Actually, it was demon-mob# 3147 who did the slicey-dicey. “Many will not understand”. I still don’t. Now when does Bwon Bwon get his date with da Winter Queen? Here’s to 2021! Wishing you all health & happiness.

'Cause he's my favorite and remembering that he was killed by a mere fel guard makes me too salty and mad. So glad that this happens to him. Still, can't wait for more of his appearances in the next expansions

Well I mean Eyir did also say he was touched by a "hand of valor" and that such a force does not scheme for mortal thrones. And the Winter Queen calls him a mortal soul infused with a loa's essence. Is Vol'jin just gonna become the new "Thrall-Green-Jesus".

If you read Shadows of the Horde, he was hardly just a "chill stoner dude". And he was no joke of a Warchief either, so ya ho'd ya tongue wid talk like dat! The one thing I agree with though- he was done a dirty, and died a bad death.

The loa spirits deserve better than Mueh'Zala, and I think Bwonsamdi is the best fit to lead the Other Side. Even if he's a loa spirit of death and war, his heart... if he even has one, is still in the right place. His true master, or rather his true mistress, is the Winter Queen, and I think the other loa spirits should follow in his example. If Ardenweald falls, the Other Side will fall along with it.

Bwonsamdi making fun about Mueh'zala is very satisfying to watch.

WoW storytelling feels like Blizzard is just making new things up as they go to explain everything and sprinkle some references in there from time to time to keep people who are actually invested in the lore happy. Like "You want to know who is responsible for this? Welp of course its this dude we just made up!". There is no over-arching idea from Blizzard, it just feels damn lazy

Blizzard always use OLD main storyline characters again and again for their game expansions because players know them and get used to with their names. This similar to Garrosh Hellscream's character. Or Illidan's, Thrall's, Jaina's, Kel'thas' characters.

I don't mind it tbh. The main storyline characters are the ones I fell in love with and the ones that made me love the warcraft universe and lore. They can stay for however long they want lol

I actually like it this way as it gives the player a sense of progression of the storyline - rather than endlessly introducing new characters with open plots. Loved Legion for that aspect, it brought back lots of characters that were left unused and it's so heavy in lore we still look back at it to connect some dots.

I looked it up cause I was wondering too. "Bwonsamdi later summoned the Spirit of Torga as a way to speak to the turtle loa. Torga was later reincarnated as a young turtle and now sits atop the head of the tortollan Lashk. After Lashk becomes a member of the Zanchuli Council, Torga is seen in the Hall of Chroniclers of the Great Seal in Dazar'alor."
