From 4:39 to about 5:50 in his video it’s Juan Gabriel COMPLETELY improvising those lyrics! Those are not in the original song, which again is proof of him being one of the greatest performers, lyricist and singers of ALL TIME and not just of Mexico! There isn’t a Mexican in this world that doesn’t know and at least love one of his thousands of songs! So heartfelt and deep…words that hit our very core! He is One of the Threads woven deep into Mexico’s soul! 💗

I realized that native Spanish speakers are a bit less afraid of getting in touch with pain of losing someone. I mean, I have heard to many songs of Spanish speakers singers and they're sing about how painful death is for them, but they still quite enjoy that pain thought. Or at least I haven't meet artist in another countries and cultures singing about it with such a big feeling like that.

I don't think that just Spanish speaker singers have that kind of song, but the forms of expressing it can be a little bit different because they don't say it that directly or depending of the rhythm. Have you heard Hurt by Christina Aguilera, or wake me up when September ends by Green Day? Those songs are about the pain of losing someone, but it's different I guess.

Let me translate that last part because it is not in the official lyrics, he made it on the fly. starting at 7:18 Eyes, that have shed so many tears from sorrow Of pain, of love, of so many goodbyes and waitings Loneliness, that's all I have now, and your memories That make even more sad the anguish of of living, like always, thinking of you Eyes, that saw you so much and that haven't seen you to this til this sun (aka til this day) Sadden, from missing you so much and from wating on you since that goodbye Loneliness, that's all I have now, that's all I have now, and your memories That make even more sad the anguish of living, like always, forever and ever, thinking of you Eternal love, eternal 2x You're welcome 😊

She's not wrong, he wrote it when his mom passed away. He even mentions Mama in this video. But I will say that others sing it in honor of other family member that have passed away. Like famous Spanish singer, Rocio Durcal, would sing it in honor of her son that passed away at an early age.
