Magic Man. Love Alive....so many. Ann was respected from the git go. Who can argue that voice? Ann was considered the female Robert Plant. But with her talented sister Nancy, they wrote and performed (with their stellar back up band and mates ) some delicious tunes. Great reaction! You remember.

I love Heart but let's not get carried away by dissing the Stones. Mick is one of the best rock singers ever, live or recorded, and puts on a great show. I do actually like Ann better, but Stones have SOOO many more great songs that you just can't ignore that.

@@mikem2778 Mick is a great performer, but as a singer he is OK at best technically speaking. I also have an acquaintance that saw tons of big shows in my neck of the woods, as his father owned the biggest promotion company and he said that the Stones were not anywhere near the top of his list and bands like Pink Floyd & Iron Maiden were much better live than the Stones and with the number of shows he saw, he knows what he is talking about.

Heart is an incredible band. Period. The Rolling Stones are an incredible band as well. Both have had almost unprecedented Longevity and have gone through very distinct stages in their careers. Both deserve the acclaim they’ve received. Finally, Keith Richards should always be worshipped as a riff machine force of nature.

One of the few bands where the 'rhythm' guitar was placed center stage and 'lead' placed downstage or off center due to Nancy's super intricate approach to guitar voicings. But it was critical to the overall sound of the two sisters ( their 2 voices over 1 guitar). So Nancy's orchestration of her guitar fingerings lead to the overall atmosphere of the piece in a very powerful way and Ann was able to push the melodic phrasing way above that. Simply amazing - and we're not even discussing their song crafting artistry, just performance. Always admired Ann's ability to vocally sway into a phrase with so much taste and control. Also, not many bands come to mind where the lead vocal is singing harmony to the guitar melodic passages on a vowel. I think Steve Perry from Journey did that on a couple of songs during live performances as well.

It's a small 1,500-2,000 seat venue and i had probably the best seats in the house, front row, center balcony. The date was August 16th the day Elvis died, they dedicated Zeppelin's "Rock n Roll" to the King to end the show. Oh Rick Derringer opened the show, did 6 or 7 songs and was out of there. Pretty sure everyone was there to see Heart.

Apparently Ann didn't even know her abilities until she took her range and rock stylings to their limit, having previous to her rock career sung mostly folk type music, I believe. She said in some interview that riffing live one night, early on, she hit the mother load, surprising herself and her sister!

I seen them in concert back in the fall of 1976. So it was really early in their career but Dreamboat Annie was already a hit. I was super stoned out and can't remember the first two acts but somehow sobered up for them. I knew right then that they were going to be great. BTW if you were at that concert at the Auditorium Theater in Chicago and someone puked on you I'm really really sorry.

Maintain that this is THE best recorded live performance of 'Crazy on You" due to the lack of restrictions of movement otherwise required of a small stage. Heart used to put on quite a RnR show. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mIB6mriEptitdc4.htmlm15s

I love Ann she rocks. Ann still rocks today( or 2019) when they were on tour. Now I think that she should do a blues record with her voice now. I think you should catch some of Ann's solo tours just for yourself. I just love this intro. Nancy rocks those guitars. Ann turned 70 and Nancy is 66 this yr. And they still have it. I think you will like Nancy's new band Roadcase Royal. I tnink you should react to the Kennedy Center Ann and Nancy singing Stairway to Heaven in front of Led Zeppelin. It's absolutely beautiful . Ann was 62 and Nancy was 58. Its the year before the got into the Hall of Fame. I wonder why they don't listen to Heart from the 2000s

That has Nancy on the extended solo/intro Silver Wheels. I have a comment over in the more recent “Pillow” video for a “Voice.” I hope you take a look at that. It even has a link I added for Crazy On You which should entertain. Be well and I’m new as I said in the other comment. Just got introduced to your channel today. Be well, Mike. Joe
