I've been going crazy about resonance for years. As a student voice actor no matter how much I felt loud I was always so undertone and dead on the microphone. After trying this I literally felt my voice travel across my room. Thank you so much.

Thanks! So glad it worked so well for you! I've worked with lots of voice actors out here in LA and these things really do work well even though they're simple.😊

Having a terrible case of "gay voice" i find myself having to pull my voice down from my nose more than up from my throat, but i admit this helps with sounds more clear and professional! thank you

Is the idea to try to generally (at least when speaking at length) keep your tone centered around that tone to reduce stress on the vocal tract?

Yes, in essence. When you do the umm hmm - right, you want to energize it. Enthusiastically. This pulls the voice out of the lower throat and helps you find your optimum pitch... more where you would hum. Then you can use that as a guide when your voice is tired or you feel strain. You also want to make sure the voice is supported (with midsection/diaphragmatic breathing so there's enough air to support the vibration of the cords. Hope that clarifies it.😊
