I look at everyone's smile, from the band and from the audience: it's as if everyone is participating in a feast, with caviar and champagne. At the Wacken 2013 concert, only delicacies were served .. :) It's more than just "good", it's really delicious.

Very nicely put :) Wacken 2013 was the most amazing live gig. The energy, the production, the band and Floor were absolutely breathtaking. I tell you right now, I have never seen anything more jaw dropping from start to finish. The smiling captured that night really says it all.

Seems like it has been a minute and a half since you last checked out Nightwish. I honestly don't remember if you've reacted to Ayreon yet, but his projects tend to feature many talented singers from the Metal genres, including Floor. They're usually a real treat for vocal technicians because you get to see multiple voice types and styles in every performance. The introduction to Ayreon is usually "The Day The World Breaks Down". However you can also pretty much choose any song from the Universe concert. The Day The World Breaks Down - kzread.info/dash/bejne/oXqpr62dot22obg.html Universe (Concert Playlist) - kzread.info/head/PLJGn3wi7b7b606GfoKAdOgm6rtX9OliRc Other people here can chime in and recommend specific songs. There's a guy I can't recall the name of who has a VERY particular way of holding his microphone, working it like he's in the studio (especially for the big notes). He uses his thumb as a way to control the distance to his mouth and will angle it to deal with plosives as well as move it up and away from him like a boom mic. He combines quiet/loud for some great dynamics. My suggestions for the Universe concert would be And The Druids Turned To Stone, Valley Of The Queens, or The Eye Of Ra.

Glad to see that back on Nightwish / Floor. Your are excellent in your spot on analysis of Floor's abilities. Have you done any of their newer ones from Human Nature? Like "Shoemaker" - the ending here is simply incredible, just like her techniques to do this difficult song. Or how about a double session.. 1. "How is the Heart" from the Album 2. The acoustic version of "How is the Heart" from Planet Rock Radio 2020 - only Floor and Troy. Troy called Floor's voice for Stratospheric - and that's pretty close to the truth. Phenomenal performance of Floor Greetings from Nightwish Army Denmark 🇩🇰 👍 💪 🤘 🤘

Really great breakdown of Floors voice! You just don't hear a lot of vocalist nowadays that aren't auto tuned or they are just lip synching.... which is not what I go to concert for...I want to hear them live! Nightwish must have some geniuses on their staff mixing their concerts!!! You just don't hear a group that sounds this good in live performances! I think the only other artist that sounded great in concert was Elton John...before he was famous. I saw him before he was famous in my hometown of El Paso in the early 1970's ( pretty sure it was 1972...before "Rocket Man" had even been released! ) He was brilliant in concert! Thanks for the excellent reaction! Give "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" a listen. They have a live version and a music video with lyrics. It is really good! New subscriber also!

Hi, longtime Nightwish fan here. Words can't express what Floor means to this band. In my view (not everyone's, but mine) - she revived this band and elevated them to new levels. Many of us Tarja fans simply jumped ship when Annette joined. Not a knock on Annette, it just wasn't a good fit (for me and others, I realize Nightwish's popularity in terms of sales kept reaching new heights despite the transition to Annette). But for me Floor changed everything. She makes this band better than ever. She's so talented, so diverse, and she has such HEART for this music, for metal, for vocals. She lives for this spotlight and thrives in it. She is deserving of every accolade and it is so fun to witness the journey of others who are new to her. Particularly a vocal coach who can point out some of the technical aspects that many fans wouldn't have recognized otherwise. Thanks for that, Liked, and I am already Subscribed

Floor did an amazing job of incorporating the "best" elements of the vocal parts of these songs, whether originally sung by Tarja Turunen or, as in this case, Anette Olzon.. and then adding in her own nuances. In some cases the I miss some of the "edges" of the previous vocalists.. such as Tarja's Finnish accent.

Floor covers Kadawathas Agape. It's not Nightwish but it is quite new. It looks and sounds like a great vocal accomplishment. I'd love to hear a vocal coach analysis of this.

Since you like Ann Wilson, you should listen to Floor’s cover of Alone. Just Floor & piano. Beautiful ❤️

More Nightwish please. I would like to see you dig more into Marco's voice as well. I would recommend, The Islander and Kiss While Your Lips are Still Red. Both are best live, like pretty much any Nightwish song.

Absolutely right about her sound. Regardless of her great technique and range the sound, her tone, is gorgeous. She is also smart, she knows how to sing every note for the best effect. Her version of Shallow makes me cry almost instantly now, Gagas version, while good, never did.
